Educational Requirements:
∎ A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, field with 8 years of experience in construction engagement or other relevant will be accepted, Masters would be an advantage.
∎ Educational qualification may be considered for highly experienced candidate.
∎ At least 4 years engineering experience, as a Senior Engineer, or another similar position
∎ Previous experience within a conflict and post-conflict/conflict zone setting a distinct advantage
∎ Experience in engineering project management and the leadership of engineering and technical teams is highly desirable.
∎ Previous experience in supervising and capacity building staff is essential.
∎ Previous experience working in a UNHCR and UN agencies project is an advantage

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Operations and Staff Management
∎ Promote and develop a motivating, harmonious and productive team environment.
∎ Ensure project implementation is in adherence to relevant guidelines, procedures and policies
∎ Responsible for the supporting the Project Manager, in overall management of the Engineering Section of the office including effective implementation of administrative, financial, logistical and operational processes within the Engineering section.
∎ Support the Public Relations and Communications team through the provision of inputs for public information and publicity products
∎ Ensure the safety and security of the staffs at the fields
∎ Effective and Efficient Supervision of Site Improvement Activities
∎ The Site Improvement Supervisor will be responsible for the overall site improvement activities and engineering efforts of project locations. Applicant is expected to ensure quality services of construction team, provide guidance in planning, oversight, coordination and monitoring of the work plan.
∎ As the Site Improvement Supervisor of the planned activities, be responsible for on-time project completion, quality control, material management and sight management of all the projects inside the Rohingya camps.
∎ Assist the site planning officer and shelter specialist for preparation of schedule of work for each scheme and ensure that the schedule is properly maintained.
∎ Act as the principal hand of the site improvement department for quality control of both constructions works and materials used in all the projects.
∎ Planning, Implementation, Supervision and Technical Advice:
∎ Responsible for the overall and timely delivery of engineering aspects of project under the guidance of Project Manager.
∎ Oversee the work of Shelter Specialist, SPO and construction labors of the project in the implementation of road, stair, pathway and bridge constructions and providing regular technical advice if necessary.
∎ Monitor and coordinate the activities of Field Engineers to facilitate the achievement of project. This includes reviewing, verifying and analyzing work plans, progress reports and other relevant documents.
∎ Planning of site improvement schemes which are necessary for the better habitat of Rohingya people around the camps.
∎ Review and endorse any design changes if necessary.
∎ Monitoring and Progress Controls
∎ Regular weekly progress meeting with relevant staffs and recording, disseminating the minutes to Project Manager.
∎ Timely and accurate submission of monthly quantitative and qualitative progress report on regional portfolio.
∎ Regular field visits and submission of field monitoring reports on project.
∎ Monitor the staffs for timely materials requisitions are submitted to the logistics and procurement department for smoothness of the construction activities.
∎ Monitor the timely submission of payment of construction labors.
∎ Budgetary Activities:
∎ Provide preliminary design and cost input on developing operation opportunities.
∎ Prepare the budgets of schemes which will be implemented around the Rohingya camps.
∎ Oversee the expenditure of allocated budgets.
∎ Others:
∎ Any other task assigned by supervisor/ Management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 27 to 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Excellent command in oral and written of English and understanding of local Chittagong and Rohingya languages will be consider an asset

Salary: Tk. 85000 (Monthly)
