Responsibilities & Context:

To execute the project according to the architectural drawings and timeline, serving as the technical supervisor on the ground who controls labor, materials, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Supervision & Execution

  • Drawing Implementation: Translate architectural and structural drawings into actual site work. Ensure all measurements (grids, levels, alignments) are accurate to the millimeter.

  • Renovation Oversight: Supervise demolition, surface preparation, and installation work (tiles, false ceiling, paint, electrical) to ensure existing structures are not damaged.

  • Subcontractor Management: Assign daily tasks to masons, painters, electricians, and tiles mistris. Ensure they do not sit idle.

2. Material Management & Logistics

  • Chalan Verification: Receive materials at the site. Physically count and verify quantity/quality against the "Chalan" or Delivery Order before signing.

  • Wastage Control: Monitor material usage to prevent theft or excessive wastage (e.g., ensuring cement bags are not left open, tiles are cut efficiently).

  • Stock Reporting: Alert the Purchase Runner or Project Manager 2-3 days in advance before critical materials run out.

3. Quality Control (QC)

  • Work Inspection: Check the quality of work at every stage (e.g., checking plaster level with a spirit level, checking paint finish for undulations) before moving to the next step.

  • Rejection of Bad Work: Immediately stop work if it does not meet the company's standard or the client’s requirement.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Daily Progress Report (DPR): Submit a daily written report to the Project Manager listing:

    • ​Manpower present (Skilled/Unskilled).

    • ​Work completed today.

    • ​Materials consumed and materials received.

  • Measurement Book (MB): Maintain the "Measurement Book" to record work done by labor contractors for their billing/payment verification.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • ​Ensure all workers wear basic safety gear (helmets/vests) if required by the client (specifically important for institutional clients like your current 8-story project).

  • ​Enforce site discipline (no smoking in restricted areas, fixed lunch hours).
