∎ Implement structural and mitigation related activities (e.g., Service facilities/ infrastructures repair/ maintenance/ reconstruction, HBB roads, culvert, bamboo bridge, terracing, guide/ protection wall, etc.) throughout the selected camps and host community.
∎ Overall responsible from a technical point of view for the quality of schemes implemented in the camps of Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazilas.
∎ Provide engineering support applying with project management procedures, apply best practices, standards and innovative technologies that comply with BRAC and Donor (WFP, UNHCR) standards and processes.
∎ Undertake concept, preliminary or detailed designs (including drawings, masterplans, design calculations, cost estimations, technical specifications, etc.).
∎ Assure the quality of the works during design and construction, continuously inspecting the materials, undertaking tests, and generally ensuring a high standard of workmanship and compliance with the specifications and relevant national/international design standards.
∎ Establish QA/QC plan of the project and ensure QA/QC during implementation phase by involving in direct site supervision, works inspection, etc.
∎ Establish Health Safety and Environmental plan in accordance with BRAC and Donors (WFP, UNHCR) guideline and/or other international standards.
∎ Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
∎ Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
∎ Liaison with project stakeholders to confirm the status of project elements, determine their level of input to the project; close Coordination with WFP/UNHCR Engineering and SM/SD Engineering staff where required.
∎ Take part in assessment of new scope of work.
∎ Report key project progress with relevant project data.
∎ Establish, develop, and manage the implementation team and perform their evaluation.
∎ Prepare project handover documents including as-built drawings, as built BOQ including material and workforce records and ensure proper project close out.
∎ Maintain effective communication with the project manager regarding the progress to ensure that challenges are considered and timely solved.
∎ Ensure effective & efficient use of resources.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the team lead.
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ KNOWLEDGE: BRAC’s values and mission, development sector, global development scenario to identify funding trends, financial and grants management, donor agencies, Basic computer knowledge on MS office applications including vast knowledge on Civil engineering soft-wears.
∎ SKILLS: Budgeting, communication, writing, monitoring, and evaluating, auditing, project management, project implementation
∎ COMPETENCIES: Facilitating group meetings, managing timelines, oral and written fluency in both Bangla and English, handling critical issues with relevant stakeholders
