Education:
    • Diploma in Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc)
  • Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery / Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery from any recognized institution.
  • B.Sc. in Nursing will be an added advantage.
  • Must be registered with Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
  • Relevant experience in General Ward and/or NICU will be preferred.

  • Experience in General Ward and NICU will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Neonatal Resuscitation and Emergency Patient Management.
  • Ability to monitor patients’ conditions and respond quickly and appropriately during emergencies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients, attendants, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Must be willing to work according to the duty roster, including day/night shifts and emergency duties.
  • Flexibility to work on changing duty rosters and perform additional responsibilities when required.
  • Must follow hospital nursing protocols, infection control procedures, and patient safety standards.
  • Responsible, punctual, sincere, disciplined, and patient-focused attitude.


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibilities

General Ward Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the General Ward.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and overall clinical condition.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, antibiotics, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform wound dressing, catheter care, NG/Ryle’s tube care, and other routine nursing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication charts, patient records, and intake-output records.
  • Assist physicians during bedside procedures and emergency management.
  • Ensure patient safety, hygiene, comfort, privacy, and proper infection control.
  • Provide necessary health education and support to patients and their attendants.
  • Maintain proper shift handover and communicate important patient information to the concerned team.
  • Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, clinical protocols, and instructions of the Nursing Supervisor/Management.

NICU Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates and critically ill newborns in the NICU.
  • Monitor vital signs, Oxygen Saturation, Respiratory Rate, Temperature, Blood Glucose, and overall clinical condition of neonates.
  • Operate and monitor CPAP machines and adjust settings as per the physician’s instructions.
  • Monitor neonates receiving CPAP support and promptly report any deterioration or respiratory distress to the physician.
  • Operate and monitor incubators, radiant warmers, patient monitors, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, ventilators, and other NICU equipment.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, antibiotics, and other treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist physicians during neonatal resuscitation, emergency procedures, intubation, and other critical interventions.
  • Provide feeding and nutritional support and ensure proper care of feeding/NG tubes as required.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices and proper aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of nursing care, medication, vital signs, treatment, and patient condition.
  • Ensure proper handover of neonatal condition, ongoing treatment, CPAP/respiratory support, and other critical information during shift changes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, readiness, and proper functioning of NICU equipment and emergency supplies.
  • Provide necessary guidance and support to parents/guardians regarding newborn care.
  • Perform any other duties related to Ward/NICU patient care as assigned by the authority.
