Education:
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing a DO (Diploma in Ophthalmology), FCPS (Part-1/Current training), or documented hands-on fellowship training in eye care.

  • Age 24 to 35 years
  • Ability to make rapid, life-saving decisions in high-pressure pediatric emergencies.

  • Manual skill and confidence to perform invasive procedures on critically ill infants and children.

  • Excellent skills for breaking bad news and liaising between the consultant team, nursing staff, and distressed families.

  • Ability to lead a shift team while taking direction from the Consultant Intensivist.

  • Emotional stability to cope with prolonged shifts and pediatric mortality/morbidity.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Examine patients with ophthalmic complaints and take detailed medical and ocular history.

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure, and anterior/posterior segment assessment.

  • Diagnose and manage common ophthalmic conditions such as conjunctivitis, cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, dry eye, and ocular infections.

  • Identify emergency eye conditions and provide immediate management or arrange specialist referral.

  • Prescribe appropriate medications, eye drops, and other treatments within the scope of practice.

  • Monitor patients` progress and conduct follow-up examinations.

  • Refer complicated or surgical cases to an Ophthalmologist when necessary.

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient (OPD) and inpatient eye care consultations.

  • Perform initial refraction, visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and routine ophthalmic diagnostic evaluations.

  • Diagnose and manage acute eye emergencies, minor ocular trauma, and routine infections.

  • Actively assist Senior Consultants and Ophthalmic Surgeons during major and minor eye operations in the Eye OT.

  • Manage post-operative recovery, patient counseling, and coordinate regular follow-up schedules.

  • Participate in hospital-led community eye health initiatives or camp.
