Responsibilities & Context:
- Assess, observe, and monitor the patient’s health status on a daily basis.
- Record symptoms and maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Prepare the patient for routine checkups, treatments, and medical procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments with precision.
- Monitor for and promptly respond to side effects, reactions, or changes in health conditions.
- Create, implement, and regularly update patient care plans in consultation with the attending physicians.
- Perform wound care, including cleaning and dressing wounds.
- Communicate and coordinate with doctors regarding the patient’s condition and treatment needs.
- Operate and monitor essential medical equipment as required.
- Collect and handle blood, urine, and other body fluid samples for diagnostic testing.
- Provide health education and support to the patient and family members.
- Supervise and guide any supporting nursing staff or nursing students present.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
