Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in the development sector with exposure to multi-sectoral projects, including knowledge of livelihood, financial inclusion, and climate change.

Job Purpose
The Senior Specialist, Business Development will manage and drive the design, testing, and operationalisation of innovative and climate-resilient solutions that strengthen IDP’s portfolio. The role ensures that evidence-based, community-driven products, services, and livelihood initiatives are piloted, documented, and adapted for scale-up. By aligning innovations with community needs, donor priorities, and organisational strategies, the position contributes to the growth and sustainability of IDP while providing technical inputs to fundraising and grants management led by the Senior Manager
Key Responsibilities
Manage the design and piloting of innovative, climate-resilient livelihoods, products (insurance, savings schemes, agricultural and WASH commodities), and digital solutions in IDP areas.
Ensure technical quality, learning capture, and documentation for future scale-up during the implementation of pilot projects.
Coordinate with technical focal persons and mainstream programmes to integrate new approaches into programme operations.
Conduct regular field visits and consultations with communities and stakeholders to identify emerging needs and service gaps.
Document findings and translate them into evidence-based solutions with a climate and inclusion lens.
Produce and disseminate field visit reports, lessons learned, and best practices to inform programme design and donor engagement.
Generate innovative concepts, technical inputs, and solution models that strengthen concept notes and proposals.
Contribute evidence, learnings, and product designs to ensure fundraising materials are grounded in field realities.
Support grants management by providing technical inputs on pilot progress, innovations, and community impact.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
