Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: Lead and Coordinate climate adaptive agriculture and livelihood development and provide strategic guidance, climate-smart agriculture mainstreaming in the organization and providing clarity to organisational climate outcome and output indicators, project management, support climate change grant-making and implementation of CCA-related activities in collaboration with different BRAC programmes.
∎ Location: Head Office

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and Coordinate Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) technology and climate adaptive agriculture and livelihood development and provide strategic guidance, to mainstreaming the organizational climate outcome and output indicators
∎ Ensure required technical support to the Adaptation Clinic team in developing and implementing the project activities for climate adaptive agriculture.
∎ Develop, review and update existing activities for mainstreaming the Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) technology across all areas of intervention, including resilient seeds, high-value crops and irrigation.
∎ Analyzing existing good practices and knowledge on the CSA in BRAC intervention areas and prepare practical guidance on including climate-smart technologies in different value chains.
∎ Ensure technical guidance/recommendations to support the selection of rural investments in CSA.
∎ Communicate with other programmes/project components to mainstream climate-smart solutions across the project components.
∎ Participate in the review of activities related to agriculture and climate change policies and technical contributions.
∎ Mainstream CSA in BRAC for supporting other programmes to establish BRAC as a major climate change adaptation actor across national and international platforms.
∎ Prepare concept notes and project proposals for potential collaborations and donor partnerships for grants to enhance efforts on climate-smart agriculture.
∎ Plays a key role to guide the M&E teams (both CCP M&E Team and the central M&E Team) to employ a climate change lens in monitoring the overall programmatic approaches of BRAC.
∎ Ensure clarity on climate data and indicators - including but not limited to the data source, analysis, regular updates and defining criteria - pertinent to climate outcome and output indicators of PRL and other relevant BRAC Programmes.
∎ Oversee implementation of the AdMit projects/ interventions, involving onsite supervision through field visits.
∎ Provide detailed guidance to the field team on gender-based perspective, sensitivity and inclusivity.
∎ Oversee all research and identify media stories, writes and edits media releases, and feature stories within tight timeframes which consistently meet agreed BRAC standards
∎ Manages the team by supportive supervision of programme staff for their intellectual growth to achieve the programme goal
∎ Represent BRAC in national and international forums and create funding opportunity for Climate adaptive agriculture and CSA.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES;
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
