Job Context:
∎ SPL`s Narir Joye Shobar Joy (When Women Win, We All Win) campaign has been supporting political parties since 2011 in their efforts to increase the representation of women in all facets of Bangladeshi politics and public life. Having developed a multiparty network of over 20,000 women leaders across the country, the campaign already helped parties to include over 6,829 women in 621 mainstream leadership committees. Women leaders are performing well in their new roles in national and grassroots committees, including organizing, training affairs, education affairs, international affairs, women affairs, relief and rehabilitation affairs secretaries and other office bearer positions.
∎ The campaign includes:

∎ Promoting women`s political leadership through advocacy and campaigning with political parties and the Election Commission.
∎ Encouraging eligible women to serve on party committees and in elected positions.
∎ Building capacity in the areas of leadership, media and public speaking, political communication, branding, networking, fundraising, polling agent, campaign management, research, community leadership, and study circles.
∎ A comprehensive media campaign to raise awareness on the importance of women`s political leadership and participation, including sponsoring.
∎ media talk shows and presenting women political leaders as featured guests on popular TV shows.
∎ Managing a YouTube channel (Democracy International Bangladesh https://www.youtube.com/@karonbangladeshamar-9747/featured) and a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NarirJoyeShobarJoy).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Senior Program Officer's major responsibilities include:
∎ Assist to team lead in designing the program on women political empowerment and setting implementation modalities.
∎ Assist to campaign on women political empowerment titled 'Narir Joye Shobar Joy'
∎ Conduct advocacy on including women in mainstream politics with political parties, election commission.
∎ Coordinate with the project implementation team.
∎ Maintain network and liaison with all related stakeholders including donor, media, alliance, network members, MPs, political leaders, NGOs.
∎ Organize events and manage implementation of the activities.
∎ Develop, implement and regularly review and update relevant policies and procedures for activities.
∎ Develop manual and training materials, guidelines for activities.
∎ Facilitate the trainings, seminars, roundtable meetings, meetings,
∎ Create and update plans and materials for the training and support of for various roles with the programs.
∎ Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly assess program components to measure success.
∎ Develop gender policy and guidelines.
∎ Prepare reports as required - including quarterly reports; monthly reports.
∎ Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor, senior director programs, DCOP, or COP.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in managing programs related to women's empowerment; women's rights generally and/or women's political rights;
∎ Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and FrontPage);
∎ Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
∎ Fluency in oral and written English and Bangla;
∎ Should have knowledge on right based approach and advocacy process; and
∎ Should have strong understanding and knowledge on women's rights issues in Bangladesh context
