Educational Requirements:
∎ We are looking for someone who has graduation or higher degrees in forestry, development studies or relevant disciplines/ fields. The incumbent must be acquainted with the development discourses of Bangladesh and has a proven track record of developing and managing projects particularly in the natural resources management sector. Professionals who are interested in a long-term career in a networked organization that works with partners and communities with a mind to creating a lasting impact on forest-dependent and marginalized communities to enhance and value conservation of forests and biodiversity are expected to apply.
∎ Key attributes: Ability to communicate effectively with highly diverse group of people ranging from senior and distinguished professionals, sensitivity to cultural differences, gender issues, and inclusion of diversity in development.
∎ Advanced level understanding and experiences of fundraising, program planning, development & management; ability to synthesize and reflect global & national priorities, country development strategies of the development partners in project development.
∎ Demonstrated ability of networking with major stakeholders including government, development partners, NGOs, civil society organizations and other relevant bodies.
∎ Excellent editorial skills & demonstrated performance to produce high-quality reports to donors and counterparts.

Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation (AF), also known as the Bangladesh Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Bangladesh Companies Act 1994. It was established in 2003 through a joint initiative of the Government of Bangladesh and the Government of the USA. It provides grants and technical support to NGOs, universities, research organizations and other eligible entities for forest and biodiversity conservation activities including alternative livelihood development of forest-dependent communities. The AF implements projects with funds/ grants from multiple donors. The head office of AF is located in Dhaka having project offices in Chittagong, Cox`s Bazar and Bandarban.
∎ The AF is governed by a seven-membered Board of Directors; one each from the US and Bangladesh Governments, and the remaining five representatives from civil society, research organizations academic institutions, and community organizations involved in forestry and environmental conservation, and development activities.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Role we expect: The KEY role of the position is fundraising, program development, and overall planning and management of the AF programs with specific roles to the projects as assigned by the Executive Director. The key responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to -
∎ Strategic Program Development, Planning & Implementation: Provide leadership support and guidance in the development of strategic plans for the AF and assist in the formulation of the Foundation's vision/strategy and action plans.
∎ Ensure that Arannayk Foundation's and development partner's brand values are maintained to strengthen goodwill and credibility in line with organizational values, mission, and vision.
∎ Advocate AF's program in Bangladesh with the government, development partners, academicians, and other relevant stakeholders in meetings, workshops, conferences, and other forums.
∎ Fundraising, Donor Liaison, & Grant Proposal Writing: Pursue funding opportunities in all AF's competence areas by generating innovative ideas through close liaison with development partners.
∎ Develop and maintain professional contacts with representatives of both public and private sectors including government officials, NGOs and development partners.
∎ Take lead in the identification of program funding gaps, priorities, and opportunities and contribute to the development of funding concepts and proposals.
∎ Program Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning & Reporting: Ensure the implementation of effective and participatory program Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and learning strategies at all levels of the AF's program in the country.
∎ Ensure that monitoring and evaluation of the operations to ensure the overall implementation is in accordance with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) plans or agreed work plans, and project agreements.
∎ Ensure quality and timely submission of high-quality and illustrative progress reports and program performance reports as per desired standards and guidelines.
∎ Represent the organization in various program-related knowledge sharing and learning forums, document and share feedback with the team.
∎ Program & Organizational Capacity Building: Effectively collaborate with all project staff, determine gaps and develop staff competence through setting up an enabling environment.
∎ Provide guidance for preparing communication materials, publications, training modules & reports for institutional development, technical capacity building of staff and counterparts for natural resources management and other emerging issues.
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by the AF management team or any other tasks that shall be decided upon by the Executive Director in the best interest of the Arannayk Foundation;
∎ Reporting responsibility: S/he will be appointed by and reportable to the Executive Director of AF who will provide supervision, monitoring and guidance in planning, designing, and developing strategies, reporting & any other technical advisory support required for managing the AF program activities.
∎ Job Location: Dhaka, need to travel across Bangladesh with a substantive field visit as and when required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 57 years
∎ The candidate must have experience in the natural resources management programs (working in any public, private or development organizations. The experience must include at least five years of service in the project management positions, either as project director, project manager or team leader. Working experience with major development partners including USAID, the World Bank, GIZ, EU, UNDP, FAO, FCDO, etc. and managing large NGO partnership programs will be treated as added advantage. .

Salary:
∎ Gross Monthly Salary will be around BDT 400,000 with other admissible benefits as per AF policy. Full Time Core Staff, extendable to 62/63 years of age based on satisfactory performance.
