• Proficiency is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently

• Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines

Experience Requirements

• At least 8 years’ merchandising experience in a reputed buying office or factory in Sweaters working with Retail brands like NEXT.

• Must have extensive experience of product development and sourcing of materials.

Technical Job Requirements

• Profound knowledge of Sweater garment engineering and production processes is required.

• Have sound knowledge of yarns and an excellent network of yarn, print, embroidery & trims suppliers.

• Should be able to source and develop new products independently.

• Should have excellent understanding of Sweater technical process.

• Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.

• Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude.

• Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures.

• Good understanding of core business aspects.

• Should have the ability to effectively communicate for raw materials, booking and delivery.

Job Context

• The Senior Product Developer holds the accountability for working closely with team from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently manage the end-to-end product development process for sweater programs from concept to bulk production readiness.

• Review tech packs and develop products by selecting suitable yarns, stitch structures, gauges, knit techniques, and trims to meet customer requirements.

• Coordinate with buyers, suppliers, sample rooms, and technical teams to ensure timely development, approvals, and commercialization of products.

• Monitor proto, fit, size set, and PP sample development, ensuring all technical comments and fit corrections are accurately implemented.

• Prepare product costing, optimize material consumption, and recommend value engineering solutions while maintaining target quality and margins.

• Identify and resolve technical risks related to knitting, linking, washing, shrinkage, pilling, color consistency, and dimensional stability before bulk production.

• Ensure all product specifications, quality standards, approvals, and Time & Action (T&A) milestones are achieved to support a seamless transition to bulk production.
