Job Context:
∎ HEED Bangladesh is Non-Government and non-political National Organization working in the field of Health, Education and Economic Development for more than 48 (forty-eight) years. The Organization invites applications from the suitable candidates for it’s C-19 Project (Covid, TB, HIV, Malaria) in Sylhet, Habigonj and Moulvibazar Districts under GFATM Project as a sub-recipient NGO of BRAC. Nature of job for Senior Lab Technician is Contractual.
∎ -One Year Contractual Appointment (With Possibility of Extension)
∎ -Start Date- As soon as possible
Job Responsibilities:
∎ a. Strengthen government health system for integrated TB control and prevention services
∎ b. Promote government ownership and stewardship for implementing TB services
∎ c. Maintain essential safety measures for infection control in the laboratory.
∎ d. Maintain optimum standard in smearing and microscopy following the SOP and guidelines.
∎ e. Ensure maintenance of microscope and other laboratory equipments as per the SOP and guidelines.
∎ f. Ensure availability of anti-TB drugs, reagents and other logistics at the laboratory.
∎ g. Maintain optimum standard of Gene X-pert site
∎ h. Optimum utilization of GeneXpert and follow the SOP and guidelines.
∎ i. Support in EQA and slide-rechecking.
∎ j. Ensure hygienic disposal of waste materials.
∎ k. Conduct 4 outreach smearing centre at the field level, in every month.
∎ l. Ensure regular drugs and diagnostic supplies to Volunteers/ DOT providers.
∎ m. Ensure DOT through follow up every patient and the DOT provider.
∎ n. Maintain contact investigation register for active case findings and refer presumptive cases to nearby diagnostic facility.
∎ o. Ensure appropriate storage of drugs and logistics to maintain optimum quality,
∎ p. Actively participate in monthly and quarterly meetings.
∎ q. Any other job as required by the project.
∎ r. Assist govt. MT (Lab) at UHC lab, whenever necessary.
∎ s. Participate in planning of laboratory set up.
∎ t. Participate in quality assurance planning of the laboratory.
∎ u. Plan and prepare annual and quarterly logistical requirements for the laboratory.
∎ Monitoring, supervision and coordination:
∎ a. Maintain regular coordination with government and related stakeholders.
∎ b. Periodic monitoring of the Laboratory (for EQA Technician).
∎ c. Check the randomized slides and provide the result as first controller (for EQA Technician).
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ • Good oral and written communication skill both in Bangla and English.
∎ • Good eyesight to read microscopy.
∎ • Good interpersonal and communication skill.
∎ • Minimum 01 years of experience in relevant field
