Experience:
Bachelor’s/BBA and MBA/Master’s in Finance or Accounting from a reputed university.
CA (CC) or CMA (Part-qualified) is priority.
2 years of experience Finance & Accounts, Shipping & Commercial sector in Bangladesh.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally)
In-depth knowledge of Bangladesh Income Tax Act and VAT Act.
1) Commercial:
Prepare and process import documents such as PI, Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Insurance, and other shipping documents.
Handle all import-related commercial activities including L/C opening, amendment, and settlement.
Maintain communication with banks, C&F agents, and shipping lines.
Monitor shipment status and ensure timely delivery and clearance of goods.
Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, accounts, store) for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh import regulations, customs rules, and company policies.
Handle HS code classification, duty calculation, and cost estimation.
Follow up with banks for document negotiation and payment processing.
Maintain proper documentation and record keeping for audit purposes.
Support in resolving any import-related discrepancies or issues.
2) Shipping:
Handle Port-related accounts and documentation
Prepare and manage PDA (Proforma Disbursement Account)
Finalize FDA (Final Disbursement Account)
Bangladesh Bank returned submitted
Maintain vessel-wise expense statements
Coordinate with port authorities, suppliers, stevedores, and ship masters
Assist in vessel operations when required/Operational knowledge of vessel handling will be an advantage
Monitor payments, receivables, and vendor settlements
Ensure proper record keeping and reporting
3) Governance, Audit & Compliance:
Internal Controls: Implement strict Segregation of Duties (SoD) to prevent inflated reporting or unauthorized site spending.
Audit Readiness: Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, preparing all necessary schedules and documentation to meet NBR and other regulatory requirements.
Taxation: Ensure 100% compliance with VAT/AIT regulations regarding vendor payments and employee payroll.
4) Budgeting & Advisory:
Variance Analysis: Track actual construction expenditures against the Master Budget, highlighting deviations to management with actionable advice on cost control.
Process Improvement: Drive the implementation of accounting software (ERP) to automate site-to-office reporting and improve data integrity.
