Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide individual and group counselling to the affected population in need.
∎ Coordinate with the Project Assistant and other members of the team the integration of mental health considerations in community-based activities along the full spectrum of the intervention pyramid.
∎ To set up an ethic and confidential service and formalize inclusion of IOM levels 3 and 4 services (e.g. psychological first aid, stress counselling, brief therapies, solution focused therapy, trauma focused psychotherapy, PM+, group IPT) in relevant referral pathways and networks, customize it to local context and sensitize partners to the service ToRs, modalities of referral and methodologies
∎ Work in close collaboration with the health and protection team to ensure ongoing needs of at-risk groups, women and girls are being met in the prevention related activities.
∎ Ensure the psychological follow-up of the beneficiaries in regular basis.
∎ To maintain appropriate records/database of assessments and any clinical/casework undertaken, and collect and collate statistics for analysis
∎ To conduct clinical supervision sessions for other team members of MHPSS team and community volunteers
∎ In collaboration with other team members to design psychoeducation sessions for the communities, based on identified and emerging needs.
∎ Provide training sessions in PFA and basic counselling skills to humanitarian actors, community focal points and volunteers and other team members.
∎ Identify and refer people with severe mental disorders, in coordination with the referral team.
∎ Coordinate with the MHPSS social worker and other team members the inclusion of people with mental disorders in other activities promoted by the teams.
∎ Develop awareness messages/campaigns related to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support to be disseminated to communities.
∎ Facilitate MHPSS needs assessments, surveys, researches in the concerned communities of the project to enhance access to community based psychosocial services and specialized mental health care for the affected population, if needed.
∎ Map existing support provisions at the microlevel and design together with the supervisor initiative to reinforce their capacity.
∎ To proactively assess and analyze the context and propose interventions to enable expansion of both IOM geographic coverage in Ukhiya and Teknaf (Main camp sides) (e.g. psychosocial support in IOM health facilities livelihood interventions for youth and women, Educational Psychology for children etc.).
∎ To be ready to provide services in Covid-19 Isolation Treatment Centres, if needed.
∎ Support emergency responses after critical incidents (fire incidents, cyclones, etc.), if requested.
∎ Prepare weekly reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing treatment and results data and trends based on MHPSS tools.
∎ To perform and other duties as may be needed and agreed with the Project Assistant and MHPSS Officer.
∎ Employment Status: Contractual (until September 30, 2025) as a replacement for staff on maternity leave.
