Job Context:
∎ Duration of contract : Up to 31st December 2019
∎ Reportable to : Director (Administration)
∎ Duty station : National Headquarters, Dhaka
∎ Job purpose:
∎ The main purpose of this role is to initiate and lead the safety and security enhancement activities, coordinate with the law enforcing agencies and the Movement Partners as and when necessary. S/he will assist in establishing, managing and implementing all matters related to the safety and security of Red Cross Red Crescent personnel, sites and assets.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure the entire safety & security system of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)
∎ To conduct security risk assessment at the BDRCS NHQ and other operational areas
∎ To conduct minimum security requirements assessments on potential work and operational areas, accommodations and ensure that actions are taken to implement and maintain the required standards
∎ Take the preventive action in respect of safety & security aspect as deemed necessary for the organization
∎ Establish safety and security checklists (e.g. Travel/Vehicle safety checklist, Initial Emergency Actions Checklist etc.) and take active role in implementing such procedures
∎ Prepare duty roster of entire security staff & ensure their 24 hrs duty
∎ Must be capable of lead, supervise & monitor the security personnel. Ensuring better performance of each security personnel
∎ Design & Locate the updated post order in each duty post so that security guard should know their duties
∎ Train security guards in relation to post orders, fire extinguishers and other standard safety equiepment
∎ Ensure to check & update all registers are being maintained in the security office
∎ Organize on demand and context specific safety and security orientation sessions
∎ To oversight and manage CCTV camera system
∎ Maintain good working relationships with all movement partners and external stakeholders
∎ Liaison with all law enforcement agencies & local administration as and when required
∎ Act as a BDRCS key contact for safety and security and remain available 24/7 to respond to any emergency situation
∎ Ensure that the integrity of RCRC is taken into account in all aspects of operations
∎ Other tasks as may be assigned by the BDRCS Management from time to time
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age : 40 to 50 years(age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidate)
∎ Experienced candidates will be given preference. Experienced in the Armed Forces/Police/RAB/BGB are encouraged to apply
∎ Experience working in a humanitarian or international organization is preferred
∎ Self-supporting in computers (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, Browsing etc.)
∎ Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement
∎ Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct
∎ Able to work in a team and respects opinions of others
∎ Honest and high level of integrity
∎ Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
∎ Good stress management skills-ability to work under pressure
∎ Fluent in spoken and written English is required
