Key Responsibilities:

Security Officers, also known as security guards, maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. Their primary duties include:

• Patrolling and Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas, monitor surveillance cameras, and inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.

• Access Control: Permit or deny entry to authorized personnel, control visitor and employee access, and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, medical emergencies, or incidents, provide first aid if necessary, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services.

• Incident Reporting: Document observations, irregularities, or violations in detailed reports, and assist in investigations when required.

• Crime Prevention: Deter theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities through visible presence and proactive measures.

Required Skills and Qualities:

A successful Security Officer should possess:

• Observation and Vigilance: High attention to detail to detect unusual behavior or potential threats.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, and respond quickly in emergencies.

• Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting incidents and interacting with staff and visitors.

• Decision-Making and Integrity: Ability to make quick, lawful decisions under pressure while maintaining professionalism.

• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with surveillance systems, alarms, and security protocols.
