Responsibilities & Context: I. Primary Objective 1.To drive product sales and brand visibility at the retail and wholesale levels. 2.To act as the primary point of contact between the company and the customer. 3.To ensure product availability and secondary sales growth within a specific assigned beat or route. II. Key Responsibilities 1.Daily Field Visits: Follow a fixed "Beat Plan" or "Route Map" to visit a specific number of retail outlets or clients every day. 2.Order Taking: Secure orders from retailers/wholesalers and ensure they are passed to the distributor for timely delivery. 3.Product Display (Merchandising): Ensure the company’s products are displayed prominently on shelves (eye-level placement) and use POS (Point of Sale) materials like posters or banners. 4.New Outlet Expansion: Identify and "onboard" new retail shops or clients to increase the company’s numerical reach in the territory. 5.Relationship Building: Maintain a strong professional rapport with shop owners to ensure they prioritize your brand over competitors. 6.Stock Monitoring: Check current stock levels at the retail point to prevent "stock-outs" and ensure fresh stock is rotated (FIFO - First In, First Out). 7.Scheme Communication: Inform retailers about current trade schemes, discounts, and high-margin offers provided by the company. 8.Payment Collection: Assist distributors in collecting outstanding payments from retailers where necessary. 9.Competitor Feedback: Report back to the Area Sales Manager (ASM) regarding competitor pricing, new launches, or aggressive marketing tactics. 10. Daily Reporting: Use a mobile app or manual log to report daily sales calls, orders booked, and kilometers traveled. III. Required Skills & Qualifications 1.Communication Skills: Ability to talk persuasively in the local language to convince retailers to buy. 2.Resilience: Capacity to handle "No" from customers and stay motivated throughout a long day of field visits. 3.Basic Arithmetic: Ability to quickly calculate discounts, margins, and total order values. 4.Physical Stamina: Since the role involves significant walking or riding a two-wheeler in various weather conditions. 5.Tech Savvy: Ability to use basic smartphone apps for attendance and order booking. IV. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 1.Total Calls vs. Productive Calls: The ratio of shops visited to shops that actually placed an order. 2.Lines per Call (LPC): Selling multiple product variants (SKUs) to a single shop rather than just one. 3.New Outlet Opening: Number of new counters added to the route each month. V. Educational Requirements 1.High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (any stream). 2.A valid driving license and a two-wheeler are almost always mandatory for this role. 3.Prior experience in "van sales" or "counter sales" is a significant advantage.
