Job Summary

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to admitted patients under the supervision of Consultants and Senior Physicians. The RMO ensures timely clinical assessment, accurate documentation, effective patient management, emergency response, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, ethics, and quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and examine all admitted patients promptly upon admission.

• Obtain comprehensive medical history and perform detailed physical examinations.

• Develop initial assessment and management plans under the guidance of Consultants.

• Order and review appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations as clinically indicated.

• Identify and respond promptly to medical and surgical emergencies.

• Provide immediate life-saving interventions until the Consultant arrives when necessary.

• Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor patients' clinical progress.

• Review investigation reports and inform Consultants of significant findings.

• Administer and supervise prescribed treatments, medications, fluids, and procedures accurately.

• Ensure correct dosage, frequency, route, and documentation of all medications.

• Prepare discharge summaries, prescriptions, referral notes, and patient counseling before discharge.
