∎ Global Public Health Research Foundation (GPHRF) is a non-profit organization which aims to improve population health at the global and national level. GPHRF is committed to enhance research capacity to address broad challenges in global health including maternal and child health, epidemiology, environmental health, food safety and quality control, evidence-synthesis, health economics, and universal health coverage. To deliver this mission, GPHRF is dedicated to the creation of cutting-edge leading research; invention of active partnerships with the government, NGOs, and the public; extensive dissemination of policy appropriate findings; and training of tomorrow`s students, researchers, and professionals.
∎ Objective: Support the development of successful research proposals, conduct scientific research of public health issues, assist with literature searches and data analyses, implement research protocols with the objective of generating knowledge from research evidence within the strategy of GPHRF and guidelines. Preparation of administrative documents related to the project.
∎ Timeframe: The initial contract will be for a period of 1 year (first three months will be considered as a probationary period). The job contract will be extended depending on the satisfactory performance.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Protocol development: Develop study protocol from concept note as suggested by the director, develop study data collection instruments as required, support Principal Investigator (PI) in seeking ethical approval, develop research questions and apply for funding as suggested by the director in order to ensure timely submission of protocol.
∎ Project Administration: Maintain liaison with stakeholders especially government officials and NGOs, supervise the team, resolve issues arisen in the field, help obtain reimbursement of field team and other activities assign by the PI in order to obtain study objectives with adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
∎ Project Implementation/Management:
∎ Support Principal Investigator to implement project;
∎ Ensure quality assurance during data collection;
∎ Train study team on contents of questionnaires;
∎ Supervise data collection process, data compilation for field monitoring;
∎ Participate in staff meetings and provide necessary instructions to project staffs;
∎ Prepare documentation and share it with supervisor routinely in order to execute activities in accordance with research protocol.
∎ Scientific Analysis and Report Writing:
∎ Provide conceptual insights to statisticians for data analysis as well as for elaborating results;
∎ Write and/or review manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals and where possible collaborate with scientists and academics;
∎ Discuss with all team members' initial reports together for consensus on findings;
∎ Prepare final reports and revise reports based on feedback received from supervisor in order to support scientific manuscript creation while developing one's own scientific writing abilities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral (Minimum IELTS score 7.0 preferred/Any other english competency test will be accepted).
∎ Strong knowledge on Statistics/ Biostatistics is an advantage;
∎ Minimum 1 year of experience in public health project/research implementation or relevant field;
∎ PhD requirement can be substituted for more experienced candidates, but must have MPH degree with several publications as a first author;
∎ Track record of receiving external funds for research entailing population-based studies;
∎ Strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals in a relevant field;
∎ Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
∎ Strong desire to work in a research organization.
Salary:
∎ Remuneration: Gross BDT 40,000-50,000 (Negotiable based on position and experience) per month for the entire period which would be payable based on work progress evaluation. Other benefits as per rules of GPHRF.
