Job Context:
∎ Socioconsult Ltd. Dhaka, Bangladesh (and field work when and where required).
∎ Socioconsult Limited seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Research/Data Analyst in its Dhaka Office. The successful candidate will work with large primary and secondary datasets and on studies involving different types of survey data collection and analysis. The position may require frequent travel and extended stays in different parts of rural Bangladesh, and assist data analyses remotely with international research team members.
∎ Probation Period : 3 (three) Months

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in research activities
∎ Experience with Application and Analytical Software
∎ Microsoft Office, MS Access with VB, SPSS for windows, STATA for windows and CSPro
∎ SPSS 11.0, Maple V Release 5, STATISTICA & S-Plus, Database: MS Access
∎ Language Proficiency :
∎ Fluency in reading, writing and spoken English and also in Bangla. S/he needs to maintain frequent communication remotely with international researchers in English.
∎ Minimum 2-3 years working experience with micro data handling is preferred. Fresh graduates with strong motivation to pursue researcher career can also apply.
∎ Demonstrated experience of working with large quantitative data sets.
∎ Experience of handling software based data collection and management tools
∎ Knowledge of standard econometric tools
∎ Excellent STATA skills
∎ Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision by external researchers
∎ Experience in survey design and questionnaire design
∎ Preparation of qualitative checklists
∎ Providing training to the enumerators and supervisors for software based data collection
∎ Compiling qualitative data including triangulation with the quantitative findings
∎ Developing the data editing/coding plan
∎ Develop statistical tools for data analysis
∎ Supervising data collection, editing, coding and checking before uploading into the server.
∎ Assisting data analysis of survey data with International research team members
∎ Checking the computerized data files using appropriate software.
∎ Analyzing the data as part of data cleaning activity and producing draft tables.
∎ Experience with data entry and CAPI software packages (ODK, Survey be, etc)
∎ Demonstrated strong writing skills
