Job Context:
∎ Network on Climate Change Bangladesh (NCCB) has been establihed in 2005. It`s a vibrant advocacy platform consistent in enhancing the voices climate vulnerable people to the policy stakeholders at local, national and global levels. Network is seeking application from the appropriate and qualified candidate who has the nationality of Bangladesh and has willingness to work as a climate activist.
∎ Project Name: `Advocacy to Enhance Governance for the Climate Vulnerable People in Bangladesh (Phase 2)`
∎ Announcement for the position of "Research and Advocacy Associate "
∎ Job Nature: Contractual, Up to project duration
∎ Project Duration: Till December 2021
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist implementation research, policy advocacy and networking activities as required by the project
∎ Coordinate the research activities (especially on low carbon development) of the above-mentioned project through enhancement of new knowledge and skills and forming new perceptions and changing or modifying old ones.
∎ Facilitate research by selecting and engaging consultants in consultation with the Project Coordinator and other relevant persons of this project by providing technical and logistic supports with a view to completing the assignments in due time.
∎ Develop Concept for research and studies organized by the project in consultation with assigning organizations, so that the project can deliver what is expected or end results being sought.
∎ Lead the action-oriented research works to conduct under the project.
∎ Facilitate publishing research report and disseminated among respective audiences.
∎ Set up a follow up and monitoring system for the project.
∎ Provide any support needed in consultation with the resource persons engaged in the process and develop a special report on each event.
∎ Identify potential partnership for conducting collaborative researches.
∎ Ensure timely completion of the research activities maintaining the quality of the work
Additional Requirements:
∎ 02 years progressively professional background in policy advocacy, networking and capacity building activities and project management
∎ Willingness to travel all over Bangladesh whenever required
∎ Have efficiency and knowledge on-field problems and necessary action to resolve them.
∎ Have experience on liaison with multi-dimensional stakeholders.
∎ Excellent computer operation skills including Microsoft Office, email and internet browsing
∎ Good interpersonal skills have demonstrated proactive roles in teamwork, excellent report writing skill and speaking skill on English to deal with foreign donors.
∎ Able to cope with stress and work under difficult circumstances
∎ Have to be gender-sensitive with sound knowledge and experience on gender issues
Salary:
∎ Monthly salary BDT 35,000 (gross) with two festival bonus and annual salary increment as per policy.
