Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor and Masters in any relevant social science discipline (e.g. Journalism, Sociology, Development Studies, Anthropology, IR etc.) or Climate Change, Disaster Management
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Network on Climate Change Bangladesh (NCCB) has been establihed in 2005. It`s a vibrant advocacy platform consistent in enhancing the voices climate vulnerable people to the policy stakeholders at local, national and global levels. Network is seeking application from the appropriate and qualified candidate who has the nationality of Bangladesh and has willingness to work as a climate activist.
∎ Project Name: `Advocacy to Enhance Governance for the Climate Vulnerable People in Bangladesh (Phase 2)`
∎ Announcement for the position of "Media and communication Associate"
∎ Job Nature: Contractual, Up to project duration
∎ Project Duration: Till December 2021
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist with developing and maintaining effective communication strategies with the public;
∎ Prepare public relations materials to raise awareness and increase the visibility of project/network activities at local national and regional levels and ensure that Network is effectively and positively positioned within a range of national and international media;
∎ Prepare communication materials / case studies/ articles written by project staff members in Bangla and /or English according to guide line;
∎ Collaborate with Project advocacy and research team on special events, including developing event communications, event promotion, audio-visual documentation.
∎ Design of printed material, including brochures, publications, and event invitations;
∎ Prepare internal communications (memos, newsletters etc.)
∎ Disseminate information about NCCB's projects on both online and offline platforms;
∎ Undertake work with vendors, including website developers, graphic designers and print companies to produce advertisements, articles or other communication material;
∎ Draft press releases and statements, maintain media lists (online and print);
∎ Assist with liaison with media and handle requests for interviews, statements, etc.
∎ Prepare content for NCCB's website and social media;
∎ Contribute to NCCB's and administrative organization's social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts;
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 02 years of professional work experience relating to communications
∎ Willingness to travel all over Bangladesh whenever required
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills
∎ High proficiency in both written and spoken English and/or Bangla.
∎ Understanding of issues relating to access to Climate Change preferred.
∎ Excellent computer operation skills including Microsoft Office, email and internet browsing
∎ Graphic designing skills using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, preferred
Salary:
∎ Monthly salary BDT 35,000 (gross) with two festival bonus and annual salary increment as per policy.
