Strong knowledge of knit fabrics and fabric construction.
Understanding of yarn composition, GSM, fabric properties, and knit structures.
Basic knowledge of garment design, styling, color coordination, and product development.
Creative thinking, research ability, and attention to detail.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or other design software will be an advantage.
Responsibilities & Context:
Identify, analyze, and develop knowledge of different types of knit fabrics and their construction.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of Single Jersey, Rib, Interlock, Pique, Fleece, French Terry, Waffle, and other knit fabric structures.
Understand yarn types, yarn composition, GSM, fabric texture, stretch, shrinkage, and other fabric properties.
Research new knit fabrics, yarns, colors, finishes, and market trends.
Support new product development, garment styling, design concepts, and sample development.
Apply basic design knowledge to develop garment concepts, color combinations, and product ideas.
Coordinate fabric swatch collection, fabric sourcing, sampling, and material evaluation.
Work closely with the Design, Merchandising, Production, and Technical teams to develop innovative knit products.
Evaluate fabric suitability, quality, functionality, and commercial feasibility.
Maintain fabric libraries, sample records, and product development documentation.
