General Responsibilities (All Modalities)

• Assist doctors/sonologists/cardiologists during procedures
• Prepare and maintain equipment before and after use
• Ensure proper patient identification and registration
• Maintain hygiene, infection control, and patient privacy
• Handle patient positioning and comfort
• Maintain reports, logs, and documentation
• Coordinate with front desk and other departments
• Follow safety protocols and biomedical waste management

USG (Ultrasonography) Assistant Responsibilities

• Prepare ultrasound machine and probes before examination
• Assist in positioning patients for abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and other scans
• Apply gel and help maintain probe hygiene
• Support the radiologist during procedures (e.g., Doppler, guided procedures)
• Clean and disinfect probes after each patient
• Manage patient flow and reduce waiting time
• Maintain USG records and film/print management

ECHO (Echocardiography) Assistant Responsibilities

• Prepare echo machine and transducers
• Position patient correctly (usually left lateral position)
• Attach ECG leads for synchronized imaging
• Assist cardiologist during 2D Echo, Doppler, and stress echo
• Monitor patient condition during procedure
• Ensure proper recording and storage of echo images
• Clean equipment and maintain echo room hygiene

ECG (Electrocardiogram) Assistant Responsibilities

• Prepare ECG machine and electrodes
• Properly place chest and limb leads accurately
• Explain procedure to patient to reduce anxiety
• Record ECG and ensure artifact-free tracing
• Identify basic abnormalities (if trained) and inform doctor if urgent
• Maintain ECG reports and digital records
• Clean reusable electrodes and maintain stock of disposables
