∎ Background
∎ The USAID Ain Shohayota Activity (the "Activity") is a five-year project implemented by Democracy International in Bangladesh. Its goal is to promote people-centered justice across 32 districts through increased public participation, inclusivity, and data-driven approaches to strengthen the justice system. It is committed to ensuring that all people are able to resolve their disputes in a fair and timely manner regardless of their ability to pay. The Activity has three main objectives: i) increase demand for responsive justice services, ii) promote pro-bono legal services, and iii) build and utilize an evidence-base to strengthen justice services. As part of its efforts to strengthen the responsiveness of justice services, it is planning to provide training to government and non-government judicial service providers on stress management and trauma-informed care.
∎ Position Summary
∎ Democracy International seeks to hire a Psychology Training Expert (the "Expert") to develop and deliver trainings with government and non-government judicial service providers on topics related to the field of psychology, such as stress management and trauma-informed care. The ideal candidate will be an expert in psychology and have significant experience leading similar trainings.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with the Activity to develop participatory trainings materials that are specifically tailored to the intended audience.
∎ Deliver trainings at the agreed times.
∎ Ensure that a do-no-harm approach is applied and emphasized to the training participants.
∎ This position reports to the Chief of Party.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Advanced degree in psychology
∎ At least 15 years of experience working the field of psychology
∎ At least 10 years of experience leading training in the field of psychology
∎ Proven track record applying a do-no-harm approach to psychology trainings
∎ Working proficiency in Bangla and English
∎ Working with the government agencies will be preferred.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Level of Effort and Compensation
∎ The Expert will work no more than 6 days on this assignment for a 12-month period following the signing of the contract. The Expert will only be compensated for days agreed in writing by the Activity, and will be paid on a bi-monthly basis against a timesheet. If travel is required, the Activity will bear the travel expenses in accordance with its official policy.
