Job Context:
∎ Duration of contract:Till 30th of June, 2020 (with possibility of extension).

∎ Age limit: 35 years (age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidate).
∎ Duty station : Dhaka & Chattogram
∎ The overall responsibility of the Project Support Officer of the Forecast based Financing (FbF) Projects to ensure implementation of activities set out in the project proposal. S/ He will support BDRCS DRM and GRC FbF teams to implement project activities and will strengthen the capacity of DRM in terms of FbF implementation. This position will act as the link between all relevant FbF stakeholders at the field-level and responsible for coordination with the BDRCS Unit Level Officers (ULO) and the District, Upazilla & local administration for timely implementation of project activities. Project Support Officer will strengthen the FbF project through direct support to the Coordinator (BDRCS-FbF Project) and to other actors within and outside BDRCS. S/He will ensure active participation of all relevant stakeholders and organize & facilitate workshops, meetings, trainings as well as supervise the work of the BDRCS volunteers. Project Support Officer is expected to travel to the field to support project activities when required, especially during the cyclone and flooding season.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implementation of FbF project activities in consultation with the FbF Project Coordinator, BDRCS. These project activities can include:
∎ Carrying out secondary research on past cyclone and flood impact for the development of the Early Action Protocol.
∎ Carrying out secondary research on suitable early actions for cyclones and floods for the development of the Early Action Protocol.
∎ Verify and align research results with the national humanitarian coordination bodies, such as the Food Security Cluster, the Cash Working Group, as well as with BDRCS internal coordination bodies, such as the BDRCS Cash Working Group.
∎ Organizing and facilitating trainings, workshops at District, Upazilla, Union, and Community level on First Aid, Search and Rescue, DRR, FbF, and others as necessary.
∎ Work with the District, Upazilla, and Union Disaster Management Committee, as well as community members to collect field-level data on hazard impact, early actions and others for developing the Early Action Protocol for cyclones and floods.
∎ Prepare guidelines for RCYs and provide training on how to collect field-level data on impact, early action, beneficiary selection, and post-distribution assessments.
∎ Provide training to RCYs on the use of smart phones for data collection via ODK software;
∎ Organize and facilitate simulations on cash distribution.
∎ Inform regularly and effectively the BDRCS Chittagong Unit management on the FbF progress (plan of activities, achievements, challenges and actions taken to overcome the challenges).
∎ Regular visit to the project areas for implementation of project activities, provide necessary support and guidance the volunteer to implement the project activities.
∎ Prepare regular progress reports and submit to FbF Project Coordinator, BDRCS.
∎ Perform any other duty as assigned by supervisors.
