Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, gender studies, sociology, anthropology, or community development.
Professional certification or registration is an advantage.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in protection, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) sector with NGOs in the field location(s).
• Experience working with children, schools, or vulnerable populations is an advantage.
• Experience in refugee camps or low-resource environments is an asset.
Skills:
• Experience working with refugees, displaced populations, or vulnerable communities.
• Knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, disability inclusion, and protection referral services.
• Experience coordinating with clusters, protection actors, and government stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, safeguarding, and accountability principles.
• Reporting and documentation skills.
Summary: The Protection, Gender & Accountability Officer is responsible for promoting safe, inclusive, and accountable project implementation at the field level by ensuring that all activities, particularly assistance distributions, are accessible, dignified, and responsive to the needs of women, girls, men, boys, older persons, and persons with disabilities.
Location: Teknaf, Coxs Bazar
Contract Duration: 6 Months (No Extension)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Objective 1: Integrating protection & gender and upholding the accountability principles in the project.
• Assist in the implementation of gender and accountability approaches within the project.
• Conduct regular monitoring to ensure compliance with safeguarding standards during project.
• Identify and report on protection risks and cases, ensuring timely referrals to appropriate services.
• Ensure that complaint response mechanisms are in place and functioning effectively.
• Promote gender-sensitive approaches in the delivery of the project.
• Collaborate with local authorities and partners to raise awareness about the importance of education for women and girls.
• Work closely with community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote accountability, protection and gender equality.
• Organize awareness sessions on GBV and protection.
• Assist in collecting data related to protection and gender for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Objective 2: Coordination with stakeholders
• Work in close collaboration with the Relief Coordinator, filed coordinator, and the project team to ensure that PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), child protection, and gender considerations are integrated into all activities.
• Participate in coordination meetings with partners and stakeholders to address protection and gender-related challenges.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, service providers, camp authorities, humanitarian partners, and protection networks to strengthen referrals and service access for vulnerable individuals.
• Participate in coordination meetings, assessments, monitoring visits, and other project activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the role and objectives of the project.
• Support capacity-building initiatives by providing orientations, training sessions, and guidance to staff, volunteers, community representatives, and beneficiaries on protection, inclusion, accountability, and safeguarding issues.
Objective 3: Support documentation and reporting
• Conduct regular field visits to identify protection risks, monitor community concerns, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support community awareness and outreach activities on protection, gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, PSEAH, and available support services.
• Facilitate and monitor complaints and feedback mechanisms, ensuring complaints are received, documented, referred, and addressed in a timely, confidential, and survivor-centred manner.
• Support the integration of protection, gender, disability inclusion, accountability, and safeguarding principles across all project activities.
• Ensure project interventions are implemented in a safe, dignified, inclusive, and accessible manner for women, men, girls, boys, older persons, and persons with disabilities.
• Support the identification and safe referral of individuals requiring specialized protection, psychosocial, child protection, gender-based violence, health, or other support services.
• Maintain accurate records, case documentation, referral tracking logs, and activity reports in accordance with organizational procedures.
• Collect, compile, and report protection, gender, inclusion, and accountability-related information to support project monitoring, learning, and reporting requirements.
Objective 4: To ensure employees adhere to ethical standards, organizational policies, and legal requirements while always maintaining integrity and professional conduct.

Objective 5: Ensure the implementation of Qatar Charity’s safeguarding standards, including PSEA and GBV prevention, across all project activities to maintain a safe and accountable environment.
• Implement and monitor safeguarding measures, ensuring compliance with Qatar Charity’s PSEA and GBV policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Abide by QC’s Child Protection and Safeguarding related policies to keep children and young people safe and to respond to concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing.
• Establish and maintain confidential, accessible reporting channels for safeguarding concerns and ensure timely response and escalation.
• Collaborate with HR and relevant departments to integrate safeguarding into field activities.
• Ensure risk assessments include safeguarding considerations and mitigation strategies for all project activities.
