Arannayk Foundation, also known as the Bangladesh Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization established in 2003 through a joint initiative of the Governments of Bangladesh and the United States. Registered under Section 28 of the Bangladesh Companies Act 1994, it promotes the conservation, protection, restoration, and sustainable use of tropical forests across the country. The Foundation provides both financial and technical assistance to various stakeholders engaged in forest and biodiversity conservation, while also implementing projects funded by national and international development partners.
Arannayk Foundation is going to implement a project titled “Beyond Border: Securing Big Cats and their habitats across Chittagong-Lushai Transboundary Landscape of Bangladesh and India” funded by IUCN under the Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP) to conserve the endangered Indo-Chinese clouded leopard and Leopard across the ecologically significant Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh and the Lushai Hills in Mizoram, India. The duration of the project is 30 months. The main focus of the project is to protect the big cats, restore ecological connectivity, reduce Human-Wildlife Conflicts (HWC), and develop socio-economic resilience, positioning conservation as a shared responsibility for local people and indigenous communities (IPLC).
To implement the project, Arannayk Foundation is seeking four qualified candidates for the position of ‘Project Officer’, two positions will be based in Rangamati, and two will be based in Bandarban, with frequent field visits to the project sites.
