Job Context:
∎ Stichting Land Ontwikkelings Project Bangladesh (in short SLOPB Bangladesh) is a nongovernment international organization working in the coastal belt of Bangladesh since 1995 with greater passion and enthusiasm for sustainable development of the community living in the coastal area of Bangladesh. Currently SLOPB invites applications from qualified and experienced person in the position of Project Manager for the Simavi funded Wash SDG Consortium Project (contributing to achieve Goal-6 of the SDG) that is being implemented in Barguna district in Barishal division.
∎ Job Location: Barguna district under Barishal division.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Project plan, design and implement the ToC (Theory of Change) approached project through leading the project team.
∎ Prepare training module, schedule, session plans for training.
∎ Implement the project activities according to project plans to achieve the results of the project.
∎ Develop project related materials that are culturally appropriate for literacy at all level of intended audience.
∎ Convene and facilitate trainings / coaching / orientations, meetings, and discussions with CSO and other stakeholders of the project.
∎ Facilitate to exercise different rules and policies (including pro-poor strategy) regarding WASH, Hygiene and Sanitation.
∎ Maintain liaison with concerned duty bearers and different stakeholders.
∎ Provide capacity building training to different stakeholders including community people, youth volunteers and on Wash & DRR.
∎ Maintain regular communication with GOs (DC, Mayor, DPHE, UNO, UP) NGO, DPHE, Municipality, Union Parishad, UDMC, UzDMC, Civil Society and Local Entrepreneurs for resource mobilization and bridge linkage.
∎ Implement demand creation strategy for ensuring affordable and accessible hygiene and sanitation for all.
∎ Facilitate training on Disaster Resilient WASH Products amongst Local Entrepreneurs.
∎ Increase participation of Women, PWD and excluded groups in decision making process of LGIs for strengthening WASH services.
∎ Facilitate to increase leverage on WASH, Hygiene, and Sanitation at different levels (GOs, NGOs and HH levels).
∎ Contribute to develop different publications of the project output and results.
∎ Prepare written reports, case studies, meeting minutes, and other project-related correspondence for internal and external distribution.
∎ Monitor project outcomes and prepare reports.
∎ Support PD for preparing bi-annual (six monthly), annual or other reports required by Simavi.
∎ Generate and present reports using standard formats and graphical summaries as required to present the project to external stakeholders.
∎ Maintain regular communication with Country Coordinator, Simavi Netherlands, MEL Officer Simavi, Consortium Partners, WAI Partners, Executive Director and Program Director of SLOPB Bangladesh to review activities.
∎ Administrative
∎ Supervise the team and play the managerial responsibilities to accomplish the results of the project.
∎ Support management for staff recruitment, staff appraisal, and procurement and play the role as an ambassador.
∎ Ensure to establish internal control and to build staff capacity to implement project activities smoothly.
∎ Ready to perform any assignment relating to the project.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Minimum 5 years working experience in governance project focusing on WASH Hygiene and Sanitation.
∎ Excellent in writing and oral communication in English and Bengali.
∎ Excellent inter personal communication skill.
∎ Experience in liaison and networking with regional level GoB and NGOs.
∎ Experience in handling NGOAB related functions like: FD-6, FD-3 etc. (it will an added value)
∎ Excellent knowledge on Policies and Acts on WASH, DM, SOD, UP Operation, RTI etc.
∎ Experience in using different Social Accountability Tools.
∎ Working experience under the funding agencies - UNDP, WB, DFID, etc. will be given special priority.
∎ IT Skill: High level of IT skills especially in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Illustrator, SPSS, Microsoft Access etc.
Salary:
∎ Gross Starting Salary: TK. 40,000 (with other benefit as per budgetary provision).
