Responsibilities & Context:

The position will report to the Sector Lead, Shelter, and oversee the planning, design, and implementation of shelter activities. Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance, managing project interventions, and ensuring the needs of vulnerable groups (women, children, persons with disabilities, and EVI) are met. The Project Manager will design projects, introduce innovative approaches, conduct needs assessments, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure quality control through regular site visits and monitoring. The role also involves tracking progress, ensuring timely project completion, and reporting.

Strategic Planning and Management:

• Assist the Sector Lead in the development, planning, design, management, supervision, and implementation of Shelter and Site Improvement projects.

• Provide technical support and training to team members to ensure adherence to funding agency, ISCG, and organizational standards.

• Address the needs of vulnerable populations by guiding appropriate shelter interventions.

Implementation and Monitoring:

• Facilitate needs assessments through field visits, community consultations, and the design of project interventions.

• Develop detailed project plans, including Bill of Quantities (BoQ), material lists, and cost estimates for shelter and site improvements, including NFI and small-scale infrastructure works.

• Oversee project implementation to ensure quality, timely delivery, and make necessary adjustments.

• Track project progress and budget to ensure effective resource utilization.

Quality and Accountability:

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, ensuring quality control and addressing issues as they arise.

• Ensure the timely completion of shelter activities and provide updates to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Coordination and Advocacy:

• Participate in coordination meetings (ISCG, TWiG) to share findings and promote improvements.

• Advocate for the rights of communities, ensuring that shelter interventions meet emergency response needs effectively.

Reporting and Proposal Development:

• Prepare and submit monthly quantitative and narrative reports, quarterly updates, and project closing reports in alignment with the Sector Lead.

• Assist in proposal development and documentation for shelter and NFI projects, contributing to fundraising efforts.

• Any other relevant work assigned by supervisor

Safeguarding:

• Ensure the safety of program participants, individuals who come into contact with the organization, and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), in order to achieve the program's safeguarding goals. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote, and endorse the safeguarding policy among team members, ensuring the implementation of safeguarding standards in all actions.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedures in the event of any reportable incidents and encourage others to do the same.
