Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
∎ CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD`s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
∎ The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
∎ CDD Office is now accepting applications for Project Manager (Livelihood). This position will be recruited by CDD under a project titled, `Resilience strengthening of vulnerable populations in northern, western and eastern Bangladesh through a network approach of 5 partner organisations project.` to be implemented with the support of Malteser International. The project will take initiatives at the vulnerability of at-risk, marginalized, rural riverine and coastal communities is reduced through improved socio-economic conditions and emergency preparedness.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ ** Capacity strengthening:
∎ Conduct need assessment and develop capacity strengthening plan for the persons with disabilities;
∎ Play a lead role in formation and coordination of Self-Help Group (SHG) of project locations;
∎ Coordinate and organize technical events, meetings, trainings, workshops and dialogues as per project needs;
∎ Provide high level supervisory and managerial support to the project team for developing their technical skills and professional competencies.
∎ ** Project management:
∎ Ensure the optimization of project initiation and execution through effective resource planning and job assignments;
∎ Coordinate in achieving project objectives; planning, implementation and progress monitoring, budget utilization and ensure approval and endorsement of all plans;
∎ Play a lead role in developing detailed project implementation plan (PIP) for each year and update quarterly;
∎ Manage key functions of the project to meet donor expectations in terms of timely and quality results and budget;
∎ Managing the partnership and ensure coordination between projects and implementation leads.
∎ Provide management support to project team to implement the project interventions maintaining high quality of work.
∎ Supervise the work of relevant staff as per authority (including development of Key Performance Objectives, clear work plans, support visits and meetings).
∎ Support to project teams on successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
∎ Support team in development monitoring plan including learning opportunities, knowledge products to be captured during the course of project implementation.
∎ Support CDD's team in putting beneficiary feedback/ accountability mechanism in place, jointly monitor the system in order to allow voices of beneficiaries being taken into account
∎ Provide strategic support on data gathering and analysis in order to assess program implementation progress, outputs and potential outcomes as well as development of further activities
∎ Ensure that reporting deadlines are met by the concerned maintaining highest quality
∎ Carry out regular monitoring visits and follow up at field
∎ Support for documentation of project progress and areas of improvement for project team
∎ Ensure timely donor reports (programmatic and financial) and donor responses in collaboration with project team;
∎ Engaging with the third party for proper implementation of baseline survey/study/evaluation through development of ToR and providing information as needed;
∎ Coordinate with project accountant on budget preparation, advance, requisition, adjustment and financial documentation;
∎ Managing the relationship with local and national authorities and other actors in the respective sector;
∎ ** Livelihoods management:
∎ Provide technical support to the development of the livelihood aspects in the programme design of the project
∎ Support external consultant during conduction of feasibility studies and development of business plan;
∎ Design and coordinate market assessments for the livelihood opportunities of persons with disabilities of project locations;
∎ Identify livelihood opportunities and provide technical support in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the livelihood activities;
∎ Provide technical direction, leadership and training to the livelihoods beneficiaries on business planning, income generation, village savings and loans (VSL), revolving funds, value chain, vocational skills training and strengthening of small scale businesses for the beneficiaries to enhance their self-reliance;
∎ Working with multiple stakeholders, including private sector, development agencies, government authorities, NGOs and social enterprises for the sustainability of the livelihood initiatives;
∎ Engagement relevant to livelihood e.g. microfinance, employment, entrepreneurship, local economic development, microfinance, poverty reduction, agriculture, livestock, vocational and technical education and training, etc.
∎ Ensure timely and quality progress reporting and prepare the analytical report of livelihood interventions and VSLA;
∎ Provide inputs and feedback to reporting;
∎ Real time monitoring of livelihood activities;
∎ Ensure systematic documentation, learnings and findings;
∎ ** Other tasks:
∎ Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages of the project and maintain safeguarding measures with code of conducts;
∎ Any other task as assigned by the line manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 22 to 50 years
∎ Have time management, leadership, analytical ability, multitasking, facilitation; communication, presentation and report writing skills;
∎ Have adaptability, teamwork, relationship building and change management skills;
∎ Previous experience of working with disability inclusive resilient livelihood;
∎ Excellent command on MS Word, MS PowerPoint; very good command on MS Excel. Have outstanding skills and expertise at communicating by email and internet.
∎ High level English language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
∎ Bengali Language (professional proficiency)
