Job Context:
∎ SHIMANTIK is a national NGO, implementing its Community Mobilization Project in different parts of Bangladesh. At present, it has been implementing its USAID funded MISHD project in 29 different upazilas of five separate districts with the technical support from Social Marketing Company (SMC). SHIMANTIK is looking for qualified male candidates as Project Manager ‘for its MISHD Project.
∎ Job Location: Based in Sylhet with frequent travel to other districts/upazilas including Cox’sbazar.
∎ Duration: Approximately for 3 and half years

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Program implementation (Time Allocation 30%)
∎ Preparation of work plan, budget, project implementation strategy, reporting formats, other materials in regular basis;
∎ Responsible for overall management of the project including oversee the different community mobilization program and smooth implementation in the respective project areas;
∎ Ensure required supports, cooperation for timely implementation of the project activities;
∎ Ensure quality and timely implementation of the project.
∎ Immediate action for any deviation and all necessary supports where required & decision making for smooth implementation of the project;
∎ Facilitate different forums, sessions, trainings, advocacy activities in relation to achieve project goals and objectives;
∎ Quick employee retention if necessary.
∎ Monitoring and supervision ( Time Allocation -25%)
∎ Supervise and monitoring all program activities in regular basis;
∎ Undertake field visits and provide guidance and feedback on the spot for the betterment of activities;
∎ Guide all HQ and field level project staff in conducting different community mobilization activities.
∎ Frequently visit field offices and provide support to the staff when and where required;
∎ Monitoring & supervision of accounts & book keeping in regular basis;
∎ Check and verify the program implementations and take necessary actions in regards to program implementations;
∎ Guide and supervise all the project staff under his jurisdictions.
∎ Networking & Advocacy (Time Allocation - 10%)
∎ Regular networking with the respective stakeholders
∎ Support to district teams for effective networking & advocacy with district & upazila level administrations, Health and FP departments and other stakeholders.
∎ Facilitate other relevant stakeholders in conducting various project related visits, conduction of research, M&E activities.
∎ Coordination and Communication (Time Allocation - 10%)
∎ Coordination with SMC and other partners for programmatic issues in the HQ and field levels;
∎ Coordination with senior management of the respective organization for regular update and support;
∎ Facilitate inter and intra organizational linkages and coordination for effectively running of the project
∎ Maintaining of regular coordination and communication with the respective govt. and NGOs in the project area.
∎ Capacity Development (Time Allocation - 10%)
∎ Facilitate in conducting different levels meeting, training, orientation sessions in relation to program preparation and implementation of MISHD
∎ Mentoring with lead partners and others collaborating agencies in implementation of MISHD project
∎ Involve in the development of capacity building of project staff.
∎ Record keeping & Reporting (Time Allocation - 10%)
∎ Review and regular submit of the monthly, quarterly and annual progress report to SMC
∎ Provide necessary support in maintaining record keeping and reporting of the MISHD project
∎ Involve in the development process of record keeping and reporting formats of the MISHD
∎ Others (Time Allocation - 5%)

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Having at least five (5) years working experience in NGOs/INGOs as Project Manager/Project Coordinator or seven (7) years working experience as Program Officer/Project Officer with necessary experience in program implementation, managerial skill, monitoring and supervision, networking and advocacy specially in community mobilization program, coordination and communication, capacity development, knowledge of computer operating (at least Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint), knowledge on financial transaction, USAID rules and regulation for implementing project, record keeping and report writing, presentation skill etc. Having a valid driving license who will use a motor cycle.
