Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's Degree, preferably in Environmental Science or equivalent.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager-Environment is mainly responsible to assess the existing environmental conditions, detailing mitigation measures, monitoring activities and reporting for the project which contains repairing, refurbishment, WASH activities, earthwork and others civil construction/ repairing work.
∎ S/he will closely work with PM-Engineering and will monitor and implementation of IEE/EIA/EMP in the project areas according to regulations and guidelines of USAID.
∎ The incumbent will responsible to building capacity of Project Staff to implement and ensure USAID environmental compliance in every construction works and maintain accountability of the project activities following Save the Children code of conduct and core humanitarian Standard.
∎ S/he will provide support and technical inputs into the development, implementation and monitoring of the project and maintain close coordination with field unit, District and Local Administration and collaboration with implementing partners.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 6 years of working experience including 3 years in management position, preferably in environmental examination/ assessment and management plan of civil repairing/refurbishing work.
∎ Ability to develop Environmental Management Plan (EMP)/Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) based on Initial Environmental Examination, detailing mitigation measures, monitoring activities and reporting to address the adverse environmental impacts.
∎ Experience in managing complex projects related to environmental and disaster risk reduction drives for children and young people, with a policy influencing dimension.
∎ Demonstrated skill on documenting community consultations, issues/concerns to ensure that such concerns are addressed in the project interventions
∎ Design and provide technical support and build capacity of project staff to ensuring environmental compliance in Shelter repairing and refurbishment work other structural and non-structural interventions
∎ Experience of coordination with the partners, district and local administration, education authorities and assist to implement the project interventions and maintain liaison with the Humanitarian Organizations and ensure core humanitarian standard during implementation
∎ Experience in USAID funded programs will be preferred
∎ Proficiency in standard office computer software, e.g. MS-Office
