Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 273 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ ESDO in Partnership with Plan International Bangladesh is going to implement School Under Tree (An alternative learning programme to continue education of Sponsored Children during COVID) Project in Hatibandha and Jaldhaka Upazila under Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari district, ESDO is seeking to hire the qualified, committed and dedicated person according to the following conditions.
∎ Work station: 3 days at Hatibandha and 3 days at Jaldhaka but base station will be lead office at Jaldhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager will be responsible to ensure the overall management of Project by proper planning, designing and monitoring of the activities in a participatory way at the field and ensure all level self-accountability.
∎ He/she will be responsible for preparing/review budget and budgetary control and staff development. Ensured an effective monitoring in planning and smooth implementation of Project activities.
∎ His key responsibility is to establishing and maintaining an effective reporting system for the project.
∎ She/he will ensure receiving technical support from donor agency and keep collaboration with project stakeholders for smoothly project implementation and reaching the ultimate target of the project.
∎ Developing effective implementation plan in participatory processes with project staff and involving the community and other relevant stakeholders.
∎ In-depth knowledge on secondary education system in Bangladesh and curriculum of secondary education.
∎ Expert in short duration learning curriculum and content/course development analyzing existing NCTB curriculum
∎ Flair knowledge on identifying students learning gap and appropriate lesson plan development during COVID 19
∎ Expert in training need assessment of education volunteers and training curriculum design, development and facilitate for the student of secondary education at community-based learning recovery initiative.
∎ Report writing skills as per organization requirement in Bangla and English
∎ Analyze the local context in relation to working children monitoring and incorporate in the planning.
∎ Monitor the monthly, quarterly and yearly plan of the project, implementation status and achievement.
∎ Monitor the plan of actions of the Technical Officer, Union Coordinator, Monitoring & Knowledge Management Officer, Accountants and Admin Officer of the project and ensure guidance for achieving the results.
∎ Establish Alternative Education Support Centre for Sponsored Children of age 12-15 at community level in a child friendly learning environment and COVID Health and Wash Management at center and family level.
∎ Realize social culture, behaviour, practice and believes of the community people and close coordination with local elites, LGI
∎ Support Project staffs are collecting data/information from intervention areas effectively with quality and quantity and provide feedback to mitigate gaps.
∎ Organize and facilitated staff coordination meetings and execute effective decision following by project need.
∎ Organize and support various orientation, training, workshops as per project need
∎ Ensure individual monthly work schedule of the project staffs.
∎ Ensure the monthly and quarterly beneficiary reach as per set plan.
∎ Exclusive Field visit at least 3 days in a week, provide technical and management guidance to the project staffs
∎ Prepare field visit schedule/plan at the beginning of the month and submit to line management of the organization.
∎ 60% field work to assist in implementation of project activities and other 40% desk work for planning, communication and necessary documentation and reporting.
∎ Ensure timely Program and financial reporting and documentation and submission to the line manager and donor.
∎ Comply with ESDO and Plan International Bangladesh policies and practices (child protection, HR, gender responsive safeguarding, health and safety, gender, and other procedures.
∎ Reporting to the Focal Person
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Age at most 40 years but flexible for highly relevant experienced candidates
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply but females are especially encouraged
∎ Minimum 6 years work experience of which 3 years managerial experience.
∎ At least 2-3 years working experiences at Education projects of which 2 years of managerial experience.
∎ Must have knowledge and proven experience of Education project, project management & implementation, financial management, project progress monitoring, staff supervision & development, networking with local govt. and other stakeholders and donor communication.
∎ Excellent skills on report writing in English,
∎ Computer skill on MS Office & Power point and Virtual Communication.
∎ Have quick decision making and problem-solving capability and to meet deadline.
∎ Should have valid driving license and skills on Motorcycle driving.
∎ ESDO/Plan Management may revise the job description as and when feel necessary to do so.
Salary: Tk. 48000 - 50000 (Monthly)
