∎ ICCO Cooperation is a leading INGO working for securing sustainable livelihoods, justice and dignity for all in Bangladesh since 1972. Most of the implemented interventions are focusing on food security, livelihood, WASH and DRR in the geographical areas where the people are at risks of vulnerability and poverty, both with host communities and Rohingya population. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the implementation of WFP funded DRR project under the supervision of the Head of Humanitarian Response. S/he will ensure timely implementation of the project works in designated camps, following the humanitarian principles and sector guidelines and standards. The PM will be the key responsible for the smooth implementation of the entire project as well as for the project`s achievements and results and for the timely quality reporting according to deliverables and obligations.
∎ Working Conditions:
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday, 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some overtime hours.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall responsible for the development, implementation and quality of the DRR activities in the assigned camps, in close coordination with technical staff (engineers), to ensure quality work.
∎ Design and finalize implementation plans.
∎ Ensure the work plan is closely followed up for the timely implementation of the project activities.
∎ Coordinate with the MEAL team to provide timely and qualitative reports (monthly narrative/ financial report, project visibility plan, quarterly narrative/ progress review, project completion report).
∎ Monitor expenditure based on the approved budget.
∎ Liaison and coordinate with RRRC, CiC, Site Management sectors, implementation committees as well as with the donor's representatives and other humanitarian partners.
∎ Ensure the project's activities are in line with the humanitarian standards and sectorial guidelines.
∎ Regularly update the senior management on project progress and challenges in the field and ensure their timely solutions.
∎ Keep track of all donor compliance requirements and ensure their adherence.
∎ Ensure effective & efficient use of resources.
∎ Ensure logistics and security to the project's staff and equipment as per organization's policies and procedures in coordination with Logistics department.
∎ Create congenial/friendly working environment for all staff members and learning culture.
∎ Ensure proper and quality documentation of organizational achievements, lessons learnt and important events
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years professional working experience in humanitarian projects
∎ Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
∎ Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
∎ Significant proven work experience in delivering construction/infrastructure projects with UN agencies/ INGOs/NGOs.
∎ Strong coordination and management at the field level.
∎ Sound knowledge and strong skills in Performance Management and staff development.
∎ Strong understanding of and experience implementing the Humanitarian Program Cycle.
∎ Able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding, experience and practice of humanitarian values and principles and able to motivate others to achieve results in complex situations without much supervision.
∎ Strong skills in Networking and liaison with local counterparts.
∎ Strong knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards, Sphere/ Red Cross Code of Conduct, and HAP
∎ Other:
∎ Knowledge of capacity building tools and techniques.
∎ Good understanding of basic human rights.
∎ Ability to cope up and mix with multicultural people and multi-tasks.
∎ Ability to foster collaborative, transparent and accountable relationships.
