Job Context:

∎ ICCO part of Cordaid is implementing a variety of projects and disability is a cross-cutting issue which all the different teams have to focus on. To build the capacities of the staff, work with the beneficiaries in the communities and strengthen the overall disability inclusion component in the implemented projects in Cox`s Bazar district, a Disability Inclusion Officer will closely work with all the team. S/he will be reportable to the Head of Humanitarian Response.
∎ Working Conditions:
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some overtime hours to attend external meetings.
∎ From time to time local/day long travel may be required to reach different working and remote areas.
∎ One-year contract duration.
∎ Follow ICCO CoC, HR, Integrity, Safeguarding, Gender, Admin and Finance related policies strictly.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical support and follow-up to the project's personnel and overall team to mainstream disability during proposals development, design/redesign project's specific phase including advice on resourcing, data collection and analysis, M&E and appropriate tools and information.
∎ Promote disability inclusion approach in the projects' context and improve the accessibility of the persons with disabilities to the several activities.
∎ Conduct accessibility audits of the interventions.
∎ Support the team in designing and collecting age, gender and disability disaggregated data using the Washington Group Short Set of Questions and conducting Capacity Gap Analysis, including focus group discussion inclusive of persons with disabilities.
∎ Generate quality evidence on the needs and capacities of people with disabilities, including knowledge on assistive products, for using them in research and program work.
∎ Provide capacity building to the staff and project's participants, including awareness about Disability Law, 2013.
∎ Support the planning, monitoring, and drafting and dissemination of the disability inclusion in the project and organization overall.
∎ Interact, build and nurture effective working relationships to foster coordination, collaboration and partnership for increasing networking and advocacy with working groups, GO, NGOs, Ups, donors and other institutions/ strategic stakeholders working on disability inclusion.
∎ Support the development of a case management approach, that includes documenting work/ activities in a care plan and setting up effective referral mechanisms or pathways to other service providers.
∎ Ensure quality of home-based rehabilitation service.
∎ Develop IEC material if required, other office wise knowledge and case stories of good practice on disability inclusion.
∎ Build an inclusive environment and adhere to organization's Protection policy and standards to be committed to the organization's vision statement and core values.
∎ Coordinate with PMEL team to include age, gender and disability inclusion in MEAL framework.
∎ Promote the engagement of the organization of Persons with Disabilities in program planning, monitoring, and implementation.
∎ Assist in preparation of different work plans and reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to accomplish the targeted project activities.
∎ Incorporate the feedback/suggestions to implement the project effectively.
∎ Perform any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in inclusion of at-risk groups ideally in humanitarian context, persons with disabilities, women, children, and elderly people.
∎ Experience in capacity building and delivering trainings, preferably in the field of age and /or disability.
∎ Have a working knowledge of social and community psychosocial and rehabilitation approaches to assist in building up community and home-based care support as well as a technical disability response, e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and career support.
∎ Experience in humanitarian context/Cox's Bazar context and preferably in an advocacy and/or technical support position.
∎ Ability to conduct and write up clear assessments and reports.
∎ Knowledge / understanding of humanitarian architecture, disability inclusion standards and guidelines and Universal Design principles.
∎ Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla (Rohingya language will be an added value).
∎ Good computer skills in MS Office.
∎ Conceptual flexibility.
∎ Logical /Critical thinker.
