Education:

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience with a legal aid organization, university law school, legal clinic, or NGO.

  • Knowledge of project coordination, legal aid, case management, and community legal services.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English.

  • Competence with common office software and digital recordkeeping tools.

  • Ability to handle the project team and sensitive information with care and discretion.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: The Project Coordinator will support the planning and day-to-day delivery of the paralegal services of the project districts, university law clinic, and NGO platform. The role connects faculty, students, interns, the legal aid office, paralegals, and legal service providers to help ensure that project activities run smoothly and justice seekers receive legal assistance in a timely. The Project Coordinator will manage project records and case workflows, arrange meetings and training, track progress, and assist with routine paralegal tasks under the supervision of the project focal. The position requires strong organization, communication, discretion, and a commitment to access to justice and ethical, client-centered practice.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain close relations, networks, and coalitions with government officials, especially the Directorate of Bangladesh Legal Aid, Prisons, universities, and GIZ.

  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities, schedules, meetings, events, and follow-up.

  • Maintain work plans, activity trackers, calendars, and project documentation.

  • Coordinate communication among the university law school, NGO platform, students, faculty, partner organizations, and relevant stakeholders.

  • Track deliverables, deadlines, participation, and project progress; prepare regular updates for the supervisor.

  • Assist in budget tracking, procurement requests, travel arrangements, and other tasks as assigned.

  • Assist in organizing the meeting of the case management forum in respective districts.

  • Track the data collection progress from respective courts according to the project terms of reference, and check the collected case information/data.

  • Assist in providing updates regarding the data collection process to the case management consultant of GIZ.

  • Assist in tracking legal assistance provided by paralegals, documentation, and the data collection process, as well as the progress of the law clinic.

  • Ensure and coordinate the capacity-building process of Paralegals and project staff.

  • Support law students participating in clinics or outreach activities by organizing case materials and coordinating supervision.

  • Ensure monitoring of the project activities and take necessary corrective measures in collaboration with the supervisor and Advisor of GIZ.

  • Regular field visits to the working area in accordance with the project requirements.

  • Follow established safeguarding, consent, confidentiality, data protection, and conflict-of-interest procedures.

  • Prepare periodic summaries, meeting notes, and reports for internal use and donor reporting.
