Experience:
Masters/Graduate from the Institute of Leather Engineering and technology and/or fields related to Sustainable Development
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in tannery processing
Strong problem-solving, data analysis and documentation for project execution is required
Ability to effectively priorities multiple tasks within a group environment
Collaborative teamwork will be a necessity for this position
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Excellent command over English (writing and speaking)

Overall Job Description:
The Programme Officer - Leather for the successful implementation of the leather programming in Bangladesh to promote sustainable production technologies aligning with the changing priorities of international standards. S/he will assist the Program Manager to overall coordination and management of leather programming and stakeholders’ relations.
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and strategic support from national and regional technical expertise, the Programme officer – Leather will execute the project`s activities, including assisting the implementation processes. S/he will be accountable for delivering results and responsible for achieving the milestones of the project. S/he will execute and manage the field mobilization and operation, ensuring the best optimization of budget, teams, and resources. The Programme Officer – Leather will support the progress of the Programme Manager and evaluate successes and challenges to enhance learning.
The position will be based in Dhaka with occasional field visits to the project operation areas
Duties and Accountabilities:
Program Implementation:
Support in implementation of best practices and technological interventions in the tanneries
Provide overall technical support on-the-ground for planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
Assist the team in identification and implementation of scalable pilot demonstrations with successful business cases.
Collaboratively plan the execution of project activities in alignment to the monitoring plan/key indicators of the project
Conduct capacity building/trainings/workshops on sustainability aspects within the cluster at regular intervals
Studies, MIS and Reports:
Coordination with Field coordinators and reflect the information into trackers.
Assist in articulation of business cases against interventions at ground
Coordinate baseline surveys, project monitoring and reporting
Support the preparation and submit brief monthly/quarterly activity reports
summarizing key activities undertaken, implementation issues/challenges, and planned
key activities for the coming months aligned to the annual plan for submission to the Team leader.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Regular coordination with the relevant industry stakeholders/ government departments and technical institutes
Responsible for proper coordination and regular communication with experts,
consultants and project partners
Explore opportunities to leverage additional financial resources for the ongoing project
