∎ JOB PURPOSE: Assist Programme Head with future planning UDP. Oversee all projects and interventions of UDP with the focus on systematic monitoring of progress and management of projects/programmes on urban governance; identification of data gaps and capacity issues, and development of strategies for the support to go governance. Provide advice to government counterparts and facilitation of knowledge building in order to transform them to more transparent, accountable and participatory institutions capacitated for pro poor urban management and planning.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist Programme Head in strategic decisions and corresponding analysis as and when needed.
∎ Overall supervision of project implementation including guidance to team members in developing, planning and executing project activities.
∎ Provide technical support and strategic guidance to the field operations unit on urban planning and governance related issues.
∎ Maintain close communication and network with city/municipality authority, UDD, Rajuk, KDA, CDA, RDA and the relevant sectoral stakeholders.
∎ Provide technical guidance to the programme development team for designing new human settlement interventions on urban governance and land tenure security.
∎ Collaboration with city/municipality authority, UDD, RAJUK, KDA, CDA, RDA for citywide development planning and assist them community led development plan on city upgradation /urban regeneration.
∎ Strengthen community platform and raise the voice and ensure the participation of community people for citywide development planning.
∎ Organise capacity building training workshop, meeting, seminar, conference for elected representatives of city/municipality authority and officials on urban management and planning.
∎ Organise pre and post-budget analysis in community, word and city level on urban allocation and findings sharing with public authorities.
∎ Develop training module for urban local government officials/representatives/CDO members on, planning & governance related issue.
∎ Analyze and disseminate report of all governance and planning related activities of the Urban Development Programme.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent quantitative and qualitative data collection, coalition and analysis skills.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, community consultation skills and negotiation skills.
∎ Skill in documentation, facilitation & reporting.
∎ Strong analytical skills, be gender sensitive, and possess a proven track record of working successfully in a variety of cultural contexts.
∎ 08 years of working experience in relevant field.
