Job Context:

∎ We are inviting applications from the experienced and proactive talents to join our meritocracy. The Program Officer- Enterprise Development (PO-E&D) primarily responsible to develop client based small business plan, bring systemic changes and market linkage for the group members. He will play a major role in coordinating and undertaking enterprise development plan with the community, manufacturer, SME, dealers, service providers, sector representatives, and other relevant stakeholders. He will assist the private sector and SMEs for capacity building, commercialization, strengthening of market access and after-sales services, accessing finance, business growth, supply chain and services for the group.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the PO-E&D include but are not limited to the descriptions below:
∎ Play an active role as field office team member to design and implement the activities
∎ The position is responsible to carry out demand-supply gap analysis and market research, enterprise development and marketing
∎ Design and implement business plan on different trades for smallholders
∎ He will ensure the implementation for business growth of each group members through entrepreneurship development and service-oriented interventions in the assigned areas
∎ Conduct market research to assess constraints and opportunities, find out primary actors of the value chain, their roles and responsibilities as well as relationships due to provide sustainable market-based solutions
∎ Establish effective management operating systems for data gathering, monitoring, analysis, classification and evaluation of business growth
∎ Promote networking between professional bodies, research, public-private sectors and other interested bodies
∎ Conduct awareness-raising events involving public & private sectors, civil society leaders and others for creating demand for innovative livelihood programs
∎ Assist group members to incorporate new strategy to improve their product/service quality and business development through linkage and increase sales
∎ identify various opportunities and constraints based on local field context and provide necessary feedback to improve demand centered business ideas through test marketing
∎ Determine the cost-benefit analysis of existing and potential technology/ equipment and business in the rural/urban market
∎ Develop the capacity of group members in the area of the business plan, business management through regional resources of public and private sectors and other actors;
∎ Conduct regular group visits and spend significant periods (70%+) with producers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the field
∎ Arrange linkage meetings, business training for SMEs, local service provider, market actor, producer group and relevant private and public sectors
∎ Follow up and monitor the field implementation with group members for ensuring their capacities to explore new market opportunities for the farmers/producers/ value chain actors and update the senior team members
∎ Prepare field progress report and other reports regularly, document the key learning & findings

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of development work experience including Livelihood/SME/MFI/Enterprize/Market/Entreprenurship/Agricultural Extension development projects
∎ Proven track record with reputed national NGO/INGO/company
∎ Core Competencies:
∎ Clear understanding and knowledge of small enterprise development, micro finance, rural markets, trading relationships, rural service provision, and market value chain approaches to market development, sub-sector analysis, the role of the private sector, government and civil society/NGOs in creating a small enterprise service oriented market
∎ Excellent skills in community mobilization and understand team approach
∎ Experience in profit analysis and business planning with marginalized group members
∎ Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders including government agencies, research and private sector service providers
∎ Excellent training facilitation, coordination, and documentation skills
∎ Understand the roles of different actors in market development and private sector engagement
∎ Prior experience working in the context of various donor-funded livelihood/SME/MF development projects
∎ Advanced user of MS Office suite, Google apps etc., MIS and proficiency in English
∎ Self-reliant, ability to work independently and effectively in a multi-talents environment and willing to work under pressure in remote areas.
∎ Must have motor-cycle driving skill
∎ Key Assets:
∎ Good analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and encourage colleagues to take initiative.
∎ Undertake frequent field visits and door to door service (70%+)
∎ Respectful to human dignity
