Job Responsibilities:

∎ Role of Physiotherapy Assistant/Attendant:
∎ As a vital member of the rehabilitation team, the Physiotherapy Assistant/Attendant plays a crucial role in patient care and treatment, working closely with the Physiotherapist. Their responsibilities include:
∎ 1. Patient Care and Treatment:
∎ Assist in the implementation of physiotherapy treatment plans as prescribed by the Physiotherapist.
∎ Guide and support patients in performing prescribed exercises and activities.
∎ Monitor and record patient responses to treatment, providing feedback to the Physiotherapist for assessment.
∎ 2. Assessment Support:
∎ Collaborate with the Physiotherapist to gather relevant patient information and assist in conducting initial assessments.
∎ Document and communicate patient progress, challenges, and improvements to the Physiotherapist for ongoing evaluation.
∎ 3. Capacity for Counseling :
∎ Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during rehabilitation sessions.
∎ Effectively communicate with patients, addressing concerns, and offering reassurance.
∎ Collaborate with the Physiotherapist in providing counseling on lifestyle adjustments and coping strategies.
∎ 4. Patient Education/Awareness:
∎ Educate patients on the importance of prescribed exercises and activities for their rehabilitation.
∎ Offer guidance on proper body mechanics and techniques to enhance the effectiveness of treatment.
∎ 5. Maintaining Patient Schedules :
∎ Coordinate and manage patient schedules, ensuring timely and organized physiotherapy sessions.
∎ Communicate with patients to confirm appointments and provide necessary reminders.
∎ 6. Record Keeping:
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, treatment sessions, and progress.
