This position is responsible for overseeing the overall management of the pharmacy, ensuring proper storage, dispensing and record-keeping of medicines. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, supports rational drug use and maintains uninterrupted availability of quality medications for patient care.
Ensure proper storage, handling and dispensing of medicines in accordance with standard guidelines and doctor’s prescription.
Provide information and counselling about drug doses, indications, side effect to patients to improve their health.
Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, temperature chart, cold chain and pharmacy registers on a regular basis.
Monitor stock levels, prevent stock-outs, overstocking and prepare timely requisitions.
Ensure that the pharmacy operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations professional standards and organizational SOPs.
Check expiry dates regularly and arrange proper segregation and disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
Support rational drug use by coordinating with medical staff and providing correct information on medicines.
Maintain cleanliness, order and safety within the pharmacy area.
Prepare and submit regular pharmacy reports to the supervisor or management.
Support audits, monitoring visits and inventory verification exercises.
Ensure proper documentation and accountability for controlled medicines and high-risk items, maintaining transparency and preventing misuse.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
