  • At least 2 years of working experience in NGO program implementation.

  • Self-motivated and organized.

  • Able to work quickly and well under pressure, both independently and as a team member, juggling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Communication skills, drafting, and report writing capability in Bangla/ English.

  • Computer operating knowledge, especially in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and in email communication.

  • Relevant work experience is preferable.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: For the Barishal District, BLAST is seeking a Paralegal. To combat gender discrimination, cyberbullying, and sexual and gender-based violence in public areas, workplaces, educational institutions, and online platforms, the project's paralegals will be essential in interacting with the project team and relevant stakeholders. Plan and conduct awareness campaigns or courtyard meetings with community members, especially local women (including those who represent the indigenous community, Dalits, impoverished women, and people with disabilities), about damaging gender norms and how to stop and deal with sexual harassment and gender-based violence.  Assist in organizing and participating in different awareness campaigns. Events, workshops, seminars, and other CBO and CSO-related activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the project team and relevant actors in combating sexual and gender-based violence in public spheres, educational institutions, workplaces, and online platforms, cyberbullying, and gender discrimination.

  • Conduct/ Facilitate awareness sessions/courtyard meetings with community people, especially neighborhood women (including representation of indigenous community, dalits, disadvantaged women, people with disabilities) on harmful gender norms and prevention and response to Gender Based Violence and Sexual Harassment.

  • Assist in organizing and attending different awareness sessions/meetings/seminars/workshops and other events with CSOs and CBOs.

  • Maintain liaison with local actors, service providers, and institutions to ensure assistance for survivors, referral, dispute resolution, and inclusion in services.

  • Maintain and update the documentation, case register, and online System.

  • Assist survivors/justice seekers through legal information, referral, case filing, and follow-up.

  • Collect information and documents from the respective institutions and provide them to service/justice seekers.

  • Keep in contact with the District Project Officer (DPO) on day-to-day activities and assist in implementation and reporting.

  • Visit the respective working area regularly.

  • Perform additional tasks as and when assigned by the management.
