Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in complaint management, workplace investigation, labor relations (preferably within the RMG sector).

  • Handling complaints or legal matters related to labor rights and regulations.

  • Proven experience in complaint handling, grievance management, or investigation within the RMG or compliance sector through complaint mechanism.

  • Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups, to ensure adherence to labor laws and standards.

Special Requirements:

  • Sound understanding of the Bangladesh Labour Act /Labour Rule

  • ILO conventions

  • Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to assess complex cases objectively.

  • Prior experience working with international organizations, brands, or multi-stakeholder initiatives in the RMG sector will be considered an asset.

  • BSCI/WRAP/C-TPAT/Higg/SEDEX/ISO45001/SLCP/Better Work etc. related social auditor will get preference.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context

RMG Sustainability Council (RSC) is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join its Occupational Safety & Health Complaint Mechanism Department as Complaint Mechanism Specialists. This newly created role is part of RSC’s strategic initiative to expand its complaint handling capacity by opening a window within the existing mechanism. The selected candidates will play a vital role in managing and investigating workplace complaints, ensuring compliance with labor laws and international standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the complaint resolution process in Bangladesh’s RMG sector.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of Complaints Mechanism Specialist (OSHCMS) will:

  • Manage a portfolio of complaints.

  • Handle the complaints phone and log complaints in the information management system, as required.

  • Process complaints in accordance with established RSC protocols.

  • Maintain timely and accurate internal reporting on complaints.

  • Conduct onsite/offsite investigations into allegations.

  • Communication with parties at different stages of the complaint process.

  • Organise meetings with the parties and prepare meeting notes.

  • Make decisions on complaints, as required.

  • Visit factories, as required.

  • Prepare comprehensive summaries and reports of complaints.

  • Maintain the RSC complaints mechanism information systems/related databases.

  • Contribute to the development of the occupational safety and health complaints mechanism.

  • Contribute to the development of checklists, tools and learning materials.

  • Alert RSC Management to any issues, risks, or challenges encountered.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of Department (HoD).
