At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in electrical safety inspection or electrical system operation & maintenance, or electrical industrial system design
Key Skills:
Technical and practical engineering proficiency in Electrical Engineering
Experience of maintaining the safety codes/standards and understanding BNBC, NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, BS/IEE regulation will be considered as an advantage
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Excellent organisational and recordkeeping skills to manage information and documentation for many individual factory corrective action plans
Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel), efficient use and management of e-mail communications; and ability to manage data on multiple individual cases
Capability to work effectively with workers, factory owners/managers, brand representatives

Introduction:
The Ready-Made-Garments (RMG) Sustainability Council (RSC) is an unprecedented initiative to ensure that garments exported from Bangladesh are produced in safe factories. The RSC carries forward the significant accomplishments made on workplace safety in Bangladesh following the Tazreen fire and Rana Plaza collapse incidents. The RSC conducts structural, electrical, fire, and boiler safety inspections of factories, supports and monitors remediation, conducts safety training and operates an independent safety & health complaints mechanism available to workers in RMG factories.

Overall Job Purpose:
The Electrical Safety Engineer is a part of the Electrical Safety Engineering department of the RSC team in Bangladesh. The role reports into the Senior Electrical Safety Engineer and is based in the RSC office in Bangladesh.
The role is responsible for doing field work and at workplaces in their assigned area for practical execution of the safety inspections, remediation, verification, and technical consultation components of the RSC. The role assists the Senior Electrical Safety Engineer and Team Leader- Electrical Safety in the execution of day-to-day operations of the department, regular reporting, data management and all other departmental activities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Execution of Factory Inspections
Provide engineering support to the RSC inspection program and training initiatives through inspection and design review and technical meetings and discussion
Conduct factory inspections in accordance with the RSC guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Guide the factory to develop maintenance plans/schedule and explain the CAP items as required
Guide and alert factory to mitigate potential electrical safety hazards and associated risks
Review design, drawings and perform analysis and calculations where necessary with related software (Auto CAD, etc.)
Creation of Inspection Reports
Produce inspection reports in accordance with RSC protocols in a timely manner and update the spreadsheet on time.
Assist the departmental leadership to achieve the departmental goals.
Quality Assurance and Record Keeping
Responsible for producing & maintaining quality report, document review.
Maintain accurate, detailed, and verified qualitative and quantitative data and case files for each assigned factory inspection and design/document review.
Remediation Plans
Participate in meeting and cooperate with RPO team and the factory to ensure remediation plans are finalised within the timeframes of the RSC
Assist the Sr. Engineer with the remediation plans and enforcement of OSH complaint and SCWT mechanism and resolutions

Ensure mutual respect across the department and at interdepartmental levels
