• Basic understanding of customs laws, HS code classification, and import regulations

• Familiarity with customs clearance software and port operations

Job Context:

This role covers preparation and verification of customs documents, submission of clearance paperwork, customs inspections, delivery order collection, goods delivery assistance, shipment tracking, resolution of basic customs queries, and records maintenance. The position operates within established customs procedures and SOPs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and verify documents required for customs clearance including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, HS Code declarations, and other mandatory documents

• Submit complete document sets for customs clearance processing within required timelines

• Conduct and facilitate customs inspections at ports and warehouses

• Collect Delivery Orders from shipping lines and freight forwarders

• Assist in coordinating goods delivery from port to designated warehouses or facilities

• Monitor shipment arrival and customs clearance timelines to ensure on-time processing

• Resolve basic customs queries and documentation discrepancies with customs officials

• Maintain comprehensive customs clearance records and documentation archives

• Support the team in preparing reports on clearance status and pending shipments

• Verify document completeness against customs clearance checklists

• Flag documentation discrepancies or customs queries for specialist resolution

• Escalate clearance delays or inspection issues to Specialist/Manager level
