Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ SAMAHAR is a Multidisciplinary Research and Development Foundation that has been working reputedly to improve the socio-economic condition of Bangladesh in the areas of education, health, poverty alleviation, empowerment, women`s rights, livelihood, skills development, etc. since 1993. At present, the work of SAMAHAR is going on in all the 08 administrative divisions of Bangladesh.
∎ SAMAHAR is inviting applications from eligible Bangladeshi Nationals for the position of Occupational Health Safety Officer to be recruited under the Health Program.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assisting the construction-contractors on inclusion of labor influx risk mitigation conditions.
∎ Assisting the construction-contractor in preparing Labor Management Plan (LMP)/Labor Management measures for the scheme.
∎ Training the construction-contractor on executing the LMP/labor management measures.
∎ Assisting construction-contractor in making provisions of barring unlawful engagement of child laborers and engaging child laborers for activities that are only allowed under the local law and ILO Convention.
∎ Organizing formal training program for different stakeholder i.e. Engineers, Contractors, Construction labor, and so on related to construction-work, on Occupational Health Safety (OHS) and proper enforcement of laws related to OHS.
∎ Arrangement of regular programs on health education, education about safety through different publication, demonstration & appraisal.
∎ Creating awareness among laborers as well as beneficiaries about labor management, provision of barring unlawful engagement of child laborers, etc.
∎ Forming Bridge Labor Contracting Societies (BLCS) and provide them with necessary trainings.
∎ Ensuring conduct the following programs on a regular basis to make employees aware through their full participation-
∎ a) Routine briefing, special briefing on specific issue or topic;
∎ b) Training on safe operation of machinery as well as personal safety;
∎ c) Safety week observation;
∎ d) Safety slogans;
∎ e) Publishing booklet, leaflet, poster etc. in simple language and with clear pictorial presentation are produced;
∎ f) Cap, key ring, T-shirt, etc. are provided to the workers with safety slogans printed on it;
∎ Monitor OHS facilities, labor influx and labor management in the program area through data collection and reporting.
∎ Prepare reports as required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 10 years of overall experience;
∎ At least 05 years' experience in consultancy work related to Occupational Health Safety (OHS)
