Experience:
Completed an MBBS degree from a BMDC-recognized Medical College / University with a postgraduate qualification (FCPS, MS, MD, or Diploma) in Gynecology & Obstetrics.
At least three years of experience in relevant areas.
Knowledge and experience working in the field of public health.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the Core Values; Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust and Accountability.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
High degree of judgment and initiative; ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas.
Job Context:
FIVDB is approaching the launch of the “Implementation of MNCH Activities in Selected Districts (Bagerhat, Noakhali, Kishoreganj and Sirajganj) of Bangladesh” project in selected districts, under the overall guidance of the District Health and Family Planning Department, with technical guidance from Concern Worldwide and funding support from UNICEF. The project aims to strengthen the health system and services, particularly gynaecological and obstetric care, including Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC) services. The duration of the project is up to July 15, 2027, and the job is contractual for the project period. FIVDB therefore invites applications from qualified and interested candidates for the position of Obstetrician to support the provision of quality CEmONC services under the project.
Job Responsibilities:
Work as a specialist doctor in managing gynecological and obstetric cases, especially those being referred from the UH&FWC/USC, CC and Community.
Provide medical services and consultation to gynecological and obstetric-related patients as per requirements.
Assist the doctors with the ward rounds and post-operative cases.
Perform Caesarean operations, both as scheduled / elective and emergency operations.
Support and mentor Medical Officers, Nurses and other mid-level healthcare professionals.
Provide proper services to the patients admitted in the inpatient wards, performing roster duties as and when needed to cover 24/7 services.
Assist in preparing periodic reports and other requests for information as required.
Provide support to manage supply and stock in OT/ Warehouse to avoid stock-out situations.
Active engagement with referral and management of transportation for the patients to higher facilities as required.
Coordinate with data entry operators to collect medical information and other details into DHIS2 while maintaining confidentiality.
Perform such other relevant duties assigned by the line manager and supervisor and/or undertake additional tasks assigned by FIVDB authorities.
Maintain functional relations with and accountability to the in-charge of the respective Upazila Health Complex (UHC)
