Job Context:
∎ Reports to: Project Manager
∎ ICCO - Part of Cordaid is a leading INGO working for securing sustainable livelihoods, justice and dignity for all in Bangladesh since 1972. Most of the implemented interventions are focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Smart Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction, WASH and Humanitarian Assistance in the geographical areas where people are mostly at risks of vulnerability and poverty (Northern, South West part of Bangladesh and Cox`s Bazar). Globally, Cordaid and ICCO have joined their forces on January 1st 2021, and the new organization will have the expertise of both the organizations together.
∎ ICCO part of Cordaid will pilot Nutrition Activities under a WFP funded project, to increase the nutritional knowledge of the vulnerable targeted participants on dietary diversity, adequate food consumption and preservation.
∎ Some specific training on food preservation and cooking will be organized at community level for the identified 1,000 participants to achieve tangible behavioural changes in their diet.
∎ The Nutrition Specialist cum Trainer will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, oversight, and reporting of the Nutrition activities, including design of behavior change and communication interventions such as appropriate cooking system, natural food preservation and food preservation techniques. S/he will lead the training module development and adaptation that contains all the key messages on nutrition, food preservation and cooking practices per the Rohingya camp context. S/he will conduct TOT and refreshers for the staff and orient them on Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) guidelines.
∎ The Nutrition Specialist cum Trainer will closely work with donor-relevant WFP colleagues and other relevant stakeholders involved in nutrition intervention. S/he will be reportable to the Head of Humanitarian/ Sr. Program Manager to implement the project activities at community level.

∎ Working Conditions:
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some overtime hours to attend external meetings.
∎ From time to time local/day long travel may be required to reach different working and remote areas.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor, or country office from time to time.
∎ One-year Contract duration.
∎ Follow ICCO CoC, HR, Integrity, Safeguarding, Gender, Admin and Finance related policies strictly.
∎ Willingness to use local transportation in remote areas as well as emergency situation.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contextualize and actualize assessment of main challenges and opportunities for nutrition improvement and behavior of the target communities
∎ Contribute to the design and validation of intervention strategies, based on different types of research such as indigenous food system of Rohingya community and current practices in the camp context;
∎ Assist to select Community Volunteers for the camps.
∎ Lead the training module development and adaptation that contains all the key messages on nutrition, food preservation and cooking practices for the Rohingya community, especially in the camp context.
∎ Support developing indigenous recipe books to train the community volunteers and target communities in the camp
∎ Conduct ToT for the staff and community volunteers for quality service delivery to improve nutritional behavior change.
∎ Support in planning, budgeting, prioritization and implementation including monitoring of the filed based activities
∎ Identify key food and nutrition messages, community volunteer and communication with a specific focus on dietary diversity.
∎ Assist to develop capacity building of community mobilizers and volunteers for nutrition messaging
∎ Establish strong working relationships with CiCs, and all relevant stakeholders and the smooth implementation of the project.
∎ Support to implement the BCC toolkits such as videos, mobile movies sessions, community session, individual counseling
∎ Participate in the meeting with relevant (public and NGO sectors) stakeholders at camp level
∎ Advocate to private sector, NGOs, Public Health sector, government, and other stakeholders on topics approved by the project.
∎ Ensure that planning and monitoring tools are developed and standardized, and that data is regularly collected, based on the overall PMEL mechanism.
∎ Compile and analyses monitoring data and produce monthly monitoring reports.
∎ Assist to organize cooking completion with the active participation of the target community.
∎ Supervise camp/community level meeting with the support of community volunteer.
∎ Prepare scheduled narrative reports for the donor including tracking the progress to achieve the target on time.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Competent on providing technical expert support, developing all the technical contents of the project and delivering the activities on the ground.
∎ Excellent knowledge on nutrition such as dietary diversity, feeding practice, indigenous food habits,
∎ Good computer skills in MS Office.
∎ Experience working within the NGO in Cox's and Rohingya context
∎ Experience in group formation, group meeting, community meeting and community mobilization
∎ Good people skill and team building /rapport building skill with the community people at camp level.
∎ Previous experience working in Cox's Bazar and Rohingya context will be an added value.
∎ Hands-on experience on social behavior change components- nutrition messaging/ Behavior Change Communication (BCC) methodologies, nutrition business and homestead food production
∎ Working experience with multi-stakeholder platform (private and public sectors) will be added value for the position.
∎ Facilitation skill to conduct training to build the staff and other stakeholders' capacity.
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skill, problem solving skills, strong ethical commitment to right based approach
