Responsibilities & Context:

Overview:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic News Reporter/Newsroom Editor/Presenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for news reporting, a strong understanding of digital media trends, and the ability to produce high-quality content that resonates with our audience. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Researching and investigating: Reporters investigate news leads to uncover newsworthy events, issues, or developments. They may review documents, attend events, and conduct interviews with sources to verify facts and gather evidence.

• Writing and delivering news stories: Reporters write and deliver news stories that consider the reader`s perspective. They also edit news material to ensure it fits within the available time or space.

• Staying up to date: Reporters stay up to date with current events by studying papers and attending events.

• Articulating information clearly and effectively to the audience, often under pressure. This includes maintaining composure and professionalism during live broadcasts.

• Reassure and maintain relationships with sources to gather information and insights that contribute to well-rounded reporting.

• Respond to breaking news events quickly and accurately, providing real-time updates and coverage as needed.

• Cooperating: Reporters cooperate with other reporters, producers, and the chief editor.

• Work closely with editors, photographers, videographers, and other team members to produce cohesive and compelling stories.

• Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic ethics and integrity, ensuring fairness, balance, and objectivity in all reporting.

• Candidates must have a strong understanding of how content and visual story-telling methods are functioning.

• Find ways to share reporting responsibilities across markets and topics as needed.

• Utilize social media for reporting and story promotion Ability to perform other digital duties as needed.

• Interviewing: Reporters interview witnesses or experts to gather insights that support their narrative. They need to be able to build rapport, communicate effectively, and prepare carefully.

• Experience with Camera equipment and lighting techniques.
